Trouble || Remy & Kaz
Xavier didnât allow alcohol in the mansion. While Remy understood that it was because a bunch of kids with powers lived there, wasnât it just regular coming-of-age to have teenagers secretly get drunk every once in awhile? He supposed it was better to be safer than sorry but he still thought it an inconvenience that he, far past the age of twenty-one, had to leave the comfort of his sweat pants and bad TV to have a glass of bourbon.
He found a place to sit that kept his back to the wall and his sights on the exits. The ash tray in front of him already had more than a few of his cigarette butts in it and he was nursing his third glass of bourbon. The place was quiet enough and he could watch the chaos about the riots on the news wrinkling his nose at the commotion. If the local law enforcement couldnât get a handle on all of this, the team might get called in if it became too nasty. He breathed a stream of grey smoke out his nose and took another sip of his drink. So annoying.
Remy was in the process of stubbing out one cigarette to start up another when commotion at the bar drew his gaze.
âFucking murderer! I knew I recognized you!â The accuser was built with a buzzcut. His shirt was emblazoned with Quinnâs logo and that alone was enough to know that he was trouble. He continued to spit abuse at the person heâd cornered by the bar, shoving him back and back. Remy wasnât one to stick his nose into other peoplesâ business but he recognized Kaz when the meathead shifted, no longer blocking Remyâs view. Remy waited a beat, watching. Why wasnât Kaz sticking up for himself? Why wasnât anybody coming to break this up? Remy drained the rest of his drink and stuck his unlit cigarette behind his ear as he made his way over.
He reached out and firmly put his hand on the meatheadâs shoulder, pulling him back and out of Kazâs personal bubble.Â
âHey now.â Remy started, âHow âbout we all jusâ have a round of drinks on me and let de man go about his own business, hein?âÂ
Meathead slapped away Remyâs hand and through his rage, managed to blanch when he noticed Remyâs eyes. âMutant! Fucking mutant!â He drew his fist back and sent a punch flying, but all Remy needed to do was duck and the poor sap ended up decking one of his own friends.Â
âAw, merde. Dis what happens when Remy try to help.â He sighed, glancing to Kaz and putting his hands on his hips. âDis place got good insurance?â @kazfelder
