I asked Lindsay Krisel Rock last night in comments of another post if the reason her grandparents were in Washington DC in 1954 was due to Lionel being stationed there and she thought that was right. I think I've posted this one before. There are a couple of articles about Georgetown On The Aisle, the society theatre group, and Virginia's involvement in coaching the would be actors. The thing I find interesting is that one of the other coaches was Constance Bennett who played Virginia's aunt in AFTER TONIGHT when Virginia was six. Bennett was married to Gen. John T. Coulter of the U.S. Air Force. The other coach on staff was actress Kay Sutton. Sutton was by then divorced from Yankees' owner Dan Topping and I'm not sure what had brought her to be in the Nation's Capital. If you look at the other column I circled, Bennett had left the group by opening night to go into rehearsals in the Pocanos for a new play.
