SMF Classics Vol XXIV: Katsidis - Casamayor 04.02.2008
A lesser-known outstanding fight occurred at the Morongo Casino in Cabazon, California in April 2008 between Michael Katsidis and Joel Casamayor for the interim WBO lightweight title. An all-action, see-saw battle that was a fight of the year candidate.
Both men had straight-forward ring wear. Michael Katsidis wore black trunks with a black waistband, gold fringe along the bottom of the waistband and gold piping along the sides. Some small red and green font along the front as well.
He wore high black socks and footwear. Both men wore standard red Cleto Reyes gloves.
Joel Casamayor wore black adidas trunks with “CEPILLO” along the waistband (Casamayor’s nick name was El Cepillo) , three white adidas stripes along the sides and a Cuban flag along the right front leg and an American flag along the left front leg.
He wore white adidas socks and black and white adidas shoes.
