The way your soul shines
Is more than enough to make
God fall apart at the seams.

Alone and lonely,
She pulls her knees to her chest
Languid by the pain.
--Raven in the Matchbox
This poem is a sedoka (composed of two katauta)--traditionally a love poem. I suppose this is a love poem, of sorts ... because love is needed for those experiencing infertility. During a hike through the Roan Mountain Rhododendron Gardens, this tree reminded me of my own infertility journey, which for various reasons, produced neither bio nor adopted children. For those who are experiencing infertility ... my heart is with you. Keep hope. And know that whatever happens, you will survive it.
starry nights, just us
love me under soft moonlight
do not rush, let's take our time
With your dress whisked off in waves of flowery silk Your garden so sweet

“So what if our love is only delaying the inevitable?”

you’re far away,
only in my dreams
for now, only in my dreams.
