Ok, so I have a pair of dark brown wingtips (open lacing). So I figure I can either dress them up or down, but every time I try to dress them down with the exception of dark denim I still look too dressy. When I try them on with my chinos (which happen to be very tapered) they only look ok. I want to wear these just as much as my casual shoes, but something tells me that I should only keep them for formal events. So I feel wasteful, is there any other way to dress them down? Or is it no use?
i wear wingtips with denim all the time. im not sure how that makes them too dressy. lately ive been wearing these brown monks with corduroy pants. maybe just wear a button down without a tie or just a tshirt? theres a lot of ways to make them casual. hope that helped!

And one more thing, how to you feel about Herschel Supply bags? Would you say they are a somewhat classy/urban balanced bag or no? I have one myself but most well dressed men don't think the backpack is mature enough. I'm not a fan of the satchel so should I just my ditch my current bag plan and on buying a leather rucksack? What do you think?
not really a fan of herschel. i had one before they blew up. they're made in china and they're sold at urban outfitters so thats a double negative for me. you can get a similar one at a vintage store. i would definitely recommend doing that. good luck!
