ϟ ~ Fate was not a word to be used in some mundane way for its influence is ever reaching, controlling, whether the image of this fate be cords connected to a computer or the light of something more godlike.
Lightning concluded, then, by sheer force of fate that she was stuck with her squad's inspector on a rather long winded and gruesome mission. It started off as a simple inspection of an area's stress level, which, not surprisingly, turned out to be harboring a rather bad egg. One would believe the system would catch a person making a homemade bomb and lugging it over to a public area before they became a threat, but then, she mused, she would be without a job.
As the man threatened to set off a bomb, the fear clouded the hues of the citizens he took as his hostages. The end result was the innards of one man splashing the general area after he received a shot of the lethal eliminator. To add on, several innocents had to be paralyzed for them to be taken into therapy. It was a job that only the heartless bastard dogs of the system could do without batting an eyelash.
Once the chaos died, Lightning looked to the inspector beside her, no visible emotion showing on her face. "A days work finished," she noted, her voice cold and distant.
