Varadha wouldn't have reached 40s if Deva didn't leave Khansaar because how much stress he would have experienced daily because Deva keep putting himself in danger even though he already begged him not to. Especially seeing how people be treating Varadha like shit every single day it's either Deva died young for protecting Varadha's honor or Varadha have a heart attack whenever Deva just run off fighting anyone who dares to challenge him lmao I mean look at the poor boy he was so stressed out! When he realized that Deva wasn't standing beside him anymore when he talked with Rudra lol he was so panicked like where the hell was my boyfriend going and sprint in instant trying to catch up to him no way he was doing what I thought he would do.

Headcanon young varadeva used to make up excuses measuring their hands just so they could touch each other hands and Varadha’s hands used to be bigger.

They did it almost everyday, they were silly kids, with Varadha usually would offer his hand upward waiting and Deva would put his palm on top of Varadha’s and they would smile at each other than interlocking their fingers for sometimes before letting go, it’s almost like a sacred ritual for them.

“One day my hands will be bigger than yours, ra” Deva would say looking down at their join hands

“Impossible, you scrawny little boy”

“Look at whose talking, just you wait and see, my hands will bigger so I could hold yours better.”

And Varadha would blush and let go of their interlinked fingers and looked the other way before Deva realized the flushed on his cheeks.

so now after 25 years, while laying in bed facing each other they did the same thing again while smiling feeling shy but also feeling a rush of warm in their chests thinking about their old habit. and of course Deva has grown to overwhelmingly huge man even his hands easily enveloped Varadha’s now so Deva took Varadha’s hand and hold tightly before bringing it to his lips and kissed it tenderly.

“I told you I will grow bigger.”
