Swiss rifle #3 “acquired”
Just placed my order for this rifle, it’s a 4-digit 81xx S/N Swiss K00/11 Carbine that was originally made in 1905 factory refinished in 1966 and sent out with its owner. Honestly I was scrolling through Simpson’s Swiss rifles and this one out of all of them caught my eye. The stock is gorgeous in a way I have never other Swiss rifle stocks look. It is paradoxically one of the first straight pull carbines ever made and one of the last to leave service it looks like.
The only damage is a tiny crack on the left side right under the pin near the “pistol grip” part and extremely light surface scratches that removed the finish. I want to spot-apply some new BLO on it and seal everything up. All the metal is matching, God willing the stock matches too but I’m about 99% sure it will be. Super discreet import markings underneath the right side of the receiver. The bolt looks like it has some mild grease/rust that will take about 5 minutes to clean up, not sure what’s on the left side of the front barrel band but honestly the entire thing is so gorgeous I don’t even mind. Just gotta find an FFL to get it sent.
