thinking about kara when she first came to earth and getting really sad. what if your entire world literally ended and your parents died and you were sent on a journey to another planet with the express purpose of protecting your baby cousin. but then you got to earth and your cousin was all grown up and a hero and he didn't need you anymore. you get placed with a human family but you are fourteen years-old and on this completely unfamiliar world and inside a culture you don't understand and you don't speak the language and everyone you ever knew or loved is gone, except for your cousin, who left you with these people you don't know because that's what worked for him and so he thinks it's what you need, too. and he did it out of love and kindness and because he's trying to do what's best for you but you are so, so alone.
