sitting with this, i thought about hair & hospitality, yet again. i hope to achieve a softer hand in collaging through loving art like i love art. jordan’s words are still swirling in my heart as i read it last night, almost nestled in rest but stirred by her old ink. she made me think of how easy it is to begin, to start, to get me started (incendiary, incite, incision), and in turn, to love. love is trying when it’s hard & trying when it’s easy & trying when you must do. in trying times, we do. when we try, are we in the midst? in the middle of it? or are we doing, as if there is no duration to our being? because there is no duration, just the present.
