neil’s the one who gets catfished because he’s so oblivious

andrew is catfishing people using kevin day, a famous college exy player, because he’s just so bored and it sounds like fun to mess with strangers on the internet and he could use some fun

also andrew thinks kevin day is super hot so if he just has to live behind pictures of the guy, why not

but then he meets neil and oh no, this one is actually kind of hot and he starts to talk to him a ton and they end up in a relationship

neil completely falls for it - kevin day is incredibly secretive about relationships and the public never knows, so it makes sense that kevin wouldn’t talk about dating someone at all

neil asks to video chat and andrew’s like “i don’t trust like that” and neil just thinks it’s because kevin is afraid of being screencapped or being used for fame in some way

matt, neil’s best friend, is extremely suspicious so he calls in to catfish

they do the usual sleuthing and nothing is adding up

but they get in touch with kevin, who helps them know for sure he’s not contacting neil, but he ends up agreeing to come on the show

he meets up with neil and is like “oh no this guy is hot”

and he even says “i’m sorry it’s not me talking to you, i love to get to know you”

neil turns redder than his hair 

so they finally get to the bottom of it, but they don’t get in touch with andrew at first, it’s andrew’s cousin who finally comes clean because nicky hemmick cracks under pressure immediately

they jump through the loops and end up flying to columbia to meet up with the cousins (by they i mean nev, max, neil, and kevin)

they meet andrew and all of them are just “okay you do not need to catfish people you’re cute”

they talk about it, there’s a lot of cursing thrown around, but the entire time kevin is standing there like “shit this guy is also hot” and neil is over there like “that’s still the person i fell super in love with”

they all part on good terms

kevin day continues to be secretive in the media about dating

until this catfish episode airs

and at the 2 month check-in, nev and max discover that the three boys are actually all dating now

neil and andrew both decide to transfer to palmetto state

and it’s the happiest ending the show has ever seen
