Of Four in The Morning, Talking And Nightmares

It was four o'clock in the morning when Kanaya Maryam woke up to some quiet groans which were accompanied by a few moans. She knew who it was from, of her two girlfriends. Letting a yawn slip past her lips, Kanaya gets up from bed and stretches a little. The troll then scoops up Jade out of bed, holding her bridal style as she quietly slips out of the bedroom and into the main room of their house.
Once she was sitting down on a sofa, the Maryam holds Jade in her lap and she strokes the other girl's hair out of her face. Soon enough the Harley woke up with a startled gasp. She glanced around, her vision a bit fuzzy as she didn't have her glasses on. Though they weren't needed at the moment, she knew that she was on Kanaya's lap and in the main room.
"Kanaya.." Jade says, her voice low and timid sounding. "It's four in the morning, isn't it?" She asks, the Jade blood humming a "Mhmm." in reply to her.
"Is there a certain reason why you wanted to know?" The virgo asks the other. In response, Jade shakes her head no. Though there actually was a certain reason she wanted to know, yet she didn't feel like saying why.
"Kanaya.." Jade starts once more, her gaze on the floor. It was almost as if the floor was the most interesting thing there. She then takes a deep breath before letting it out and speaking.
"It's four o'clock in the morning, I can tell you're tired." She says, glancing over to the jade blood before she spoke again. "It's four o'clock in the morning, you can tell I'm wired..."
The troll goes to say something in reply, only to get cut off by the other girl. "You woke me up, I was moaning.." She mumbles, glancing to the other once more. With Jade quiet, Kanaya reaches over and gently takes the green eyed girl's hand into her own.
"How often do these nightmares come?" Kan asks, moving over to Jade and wrapping her other arm around her. "Who are the wolves in your head? How often do these nightmares come now?" She questions as she held the other close to her.
Jade goes to answer each question the other asks of her, finding herself unable to at the moment. So instead she lets the jade blood hold her close, as she wraps her arms around the other. For a brief moment the two sat in silence, the world seeming as if it would come to stop.
"You should let the past stay dead."Â Kanaya murmurs before pressing a kiss on the top of Jade's head. The previously mentioned girl letting out a sigh as she leans against her girlfriend. She felt like curling up and going to sleep right there, but she knew she couldn't.
"Babe, I'm trying." The girl replies, looking up to the troll from where she was positioned. Which her statement was true, Jade did try. It wasn't her fault that the night terrors kept on bothering her.
"Well I'll be right back, I'm going to get your glasses." Kanaya says before giving a brief nod of her head in reaponse to what the girl had said. She then gets up after Jade had moved from off of her lap and onto the sofa. The Harley then nods of her head, letting Kanaya leave to get her glasses. She looks down at the floor, a sigh escaping her. Why were nightmares so terrible?
Soon Kan returns with the girl's glasses, tilting her head up from her chin with her hand. The human's eyes had gone wide as if she had remembered something. So the troll sits down and hands her the glasses which she takes and puts on. Jade's eyes were still wide, they made the rainbow drinker want to ask questions. Yet she refrained from doing so, she knew that Jade would talk about it if she wanted to.
"You know your eyes are wide, right, dear?" Kanaya asks the other girl, who in return nods and drops her gaze to the floor. She then lets out a sigh and closes her eyes.
"You know I'm not joking," Kanaya continues for a brief moment, "Darling, you know that you were groaning?"
"Kan, I'll be fine, even at four o'clock in the morning." Jade replies as she opens her eyes and looks back over at Kanaya. Sure she had things from SBURB and SGRUB that still plagued her mind, her dreams to but she would be alright. At least that's what she hoped for.
The jade blood lets out a soft sigh and she gently pulls Jade back into her lap.
She wanted to hold the other close and tell her that everything would be ok, that things would get better though she knew better. So for now she holds the other in her lap, humming softly to hopefully help the poor girl calm down a bit more. Night terrors were never a nice thing to deal with.
"Hey Jade," Kan starts, speaking softly, "How often do these nightmares come?" She inquires as the girl in her lap looks up at her. A sigh soon coming from the Harley. She didnt necessarily want to talk about it, but she knew it would be good for her to do so anyways.
"If differs from time to time, but it's mostly a couple times every other month or so." She says in return to the question. Kanaya acknowledges the response and nods a little.
"Ok well, who are the wolves in your head?" She questions, an eyebrow raised just a bit. A quiet whine-like noise came from the girl, stalling for a moment. She then adverts her gaze before reaponding to the Maryam.
"It's stuff from the games, sburb and sgrub," She starts, closing her eyes for a second. "There was so much we went through, going god tier, grimbark for myself-" Jade cuts herself off and shakes her head. She didn't like reliving the game sessions in her dreams.
Once more the troll nods her head in response. She then pecks a kiss to the other girl's head. The virgo understood what she meant, there had been so much that had happened to all of them through out the sessions.
"Now, now…you should let the past stay dead." Kanaya murmurs in a soft tone as she put a strand on Jade's hair behind her ear. The other girl stayed quiet briefly as she sat up a bit and rested her head against the rainbow drinker's shoulder.
"Babe, I'm trying..." She mumbles in reply, closing her eyes. The nightmares were rough but her girlfriend did have a good point. She should leave the game behind her, let the past stay dead.
It's four o'clock in the morning and both ladies found themselves to be tired after being up for some time. So once everything was ok and they decided that they could go back to sleep, that's exactly what they did. Kanaya and Jade had both fallen back to sleep there on the couch. A light blanket from the top of the couch over the two of them.
