This is NOT their first interaction, of course. These two are one a slow burn side. I just wanted to do a scene that would allow to incorporate Wonderweiss, and a bit of fun. So I'm aware this unfortunately might have ended up a bit ooc 😖 Sadly, my skills weren't up there for my initial more serious idea. Which would be their first proper interaction, instead of jumping straight to more romantic and funny things. Maybe some day, I hope.

As I said earlier, the core idea for Lene as an OC was to give Wonderweiss a mom figure. And since in canon Kaname is the person who cares the most about Weiss, it only made sense for him to eventually interact with her more too, and be her most natural love interest (that, and because I love him 🙈). And so, little by little, they grow closer. He's the first person who treats Lene with genuine respect, which shocks her initially, given he's one of "the bosses" and she's a weak servant. In turn, she reminds Kaname of how he used to be with Kakyō - of the trusting and hopeful parts he lost.

In this AU, it takes much more time to train Wonderweiss properly for Fake Karakura than it did in canon (if Aizen even bothered with that. I just like to think he'd make sure there was no risk of him choosing butterfly watching over fighting when the time came, you know). Which allows Lene and Kaname to have enough time to develop some very unplanned and very troublesome feelings.
