One of those name-your-price sketches (that actually got way out of hand since I was having fun).
This is a gift from kamiane to lissanaria of her character Cerethien. I think I got her right, as I don't know the character design super well... but here you go.Â

What does Esme want in life? Is it a marriage, with children around her, or does some part of the sea still call to her to fill her life full of adventures? What do you as her creator want to see happen for her within the up coming months?
Esme, to put it plainly, doesnât know what she wants. While her quest for nobility has been shaken up and stepped on, it was never really the title that she wanted; she wanted what came with it. She saw nobles as untouchable. She saw them as getting everything handed to them, never living beneath the boot of another, and all while lying around in luxury, wanting for nothing. Itâs a very naĂŻve outlook done completely on purpose. She didnât want the paperwork, she didnât want the politics, she didnât want the power struggles â she just wanted the security and the chance to finally have something that she would not have to constantly fight for. After whatâs happened, sheâs going to focus more on seeing if she can make herself feel secure without the title. She was already starting to hunt down those that had been part of The White Widowâs crew, but now with being named a privateer on behalf of the Thalassian State (as a âpunishmentâ), she can do this with no questions asked. She will continue to snuff out those that make her feel âinsecureâ in hopes of offering herself a chance to live without being terrified. After that, sheâs not thinking about marriage or children. The one time she fell in love did not end well (as you can see from Hanging Johnny) and sheâs too scared of ending up like her mother to have children. As her creator, I want her to keep maturing. Her Trial of Humility really did a number on her and it sped up development to where I had to take a week or so to really feel out where the fuck she is, lol. Iâm still feeling out how much she really would have changed and just how open she would be about it and to whom. In the next few months, I want that to settle down and I want her to come to terms with what she really is and hopefully realize that she can still accomplish a lot. Hopefully. Fingers crossed. Iâd also like to see her finish her goddamn Sunward Trials lol.
I want you to write a reaction for Faer to this scene - Esme approaches Faervell, her eyes sweep over his form before her lips part."Gabe has asked for my hand, I've accepted." DUN DUN DUN!
Sappy story for you, here you go.
Faervell stood staring at the familiar rogue, unsure, at first, what to say to her in response. She had asked for him immediately, said it was very important. Of course he would come to a summons like that, especially from her.
He felt a sickening drop in his stomach, his muscles tensing, as if heâd just taken a blow from her words. He knew he shouldnât waste time with looking at her stunned, although he just couldnât regain himself. Not when sheâd burst that sort of news on him⌠Sure, she had been distant, spending more time out in her base in Gilneas, but, he could never have suspected⌠this.
The warlock wanted to laugh, wanted to joke it off. Thatâs right⌠this was all probably just a joke or some sort of necessary step in her plans to try and gain wealth and power. Finally, his lips shifted to a small smirk, his mouth opening to finally speak to her, âWhatâs this? You must be joking, right? Going to use him for money or something like that?â He laughed awkwardly at his own joke, half just to calm himself, and half to wait for her to join in or perhaps snap at him to shutup.
That did not happen.
She looked directly at his eyes, calm as ever, although a slight hint of a blush began to form on her cheeks. âThis isnât a joke, Faervell. I am telling you because you are my friend, and that is all.â
His smirk slipped from his face and a sinking feeling replaced those other feelings. A surge of anger rushed through him, although he eased it back, taking a deep breath, âReally now?â His brows raised. âI wouldnât have guessed⌠especially with how he treats you.â
âYou do not know how he treats me.â She snapped suddenly, as if to shut him up before he could insult the man further.
Faervell rose his hands innocently, âFine, fine.â a look of honest hurt crossed over his face, âSo then⌠You are really going toâŚâ The warlock didnât much wish to finish that sentence, feeling the overwhelming disappointment already swell up in his chest, threatening to burst out for her to see just how upset he was at this news.
Esme gave a small nod, âListen, I canât stay long, I just had to tell you. This wonât ruin any of our work⌠nor our friendship, Faervell.â She gave him a more gentle look, âDonât worry, okay?â She reached out to him a moment, although the motion was awkward and she ended up retracting the hand before it made contact with the other man.
Pain was obvious in his expression, although he forced a thin, strained smile on his lips. âI will not. I am happy for you, Esme. Just do not let him hurt you, not that I doubt your abilities to hurt him worse. Youâve made your decision.â
She nodded her head once, âGood⌠I have to go, though. We will speak later about our other business.â She eyed his face over, trying to get a read of him for now, âGood night, Faervell.â With that, she turned from him with a whip of her bright hair and walked away, around the large gazebo building.
He watched her until he could no longer. After she was out of sight, that thin smile crumbled, a solid frown growing in itâs place. He waited a few minutes, holding back a sudden pain in his chest before the rage swelled up, causing him to suddenly move to the table near him and flip it over before it was set on green, corrupted fire. More objects around him suddenly lit up in the twisted flames as he took out his anger and pain on them.
Some time later, he sat away from charred remains of furniture and other plants around the area that someone was sure to get mad about. He looked out at the ocean with a lidded gaze, clutching a nearly fully drained fel crystal in his hand tightly. He knew he had to accept this as truth, and would manage. It was to be expected. Ciaragan had even warned of something like this⌠Esme was not someone for him. She never was, no matter what he hoped and dreamed for.
He cursed, throwing the drained crystal out into the ocean before he covered his eyes, trying to hide the tears that were streaming from his eyes. He muttered in a choked voice, âBut I loved you first.â
