The Saturday Brunch Wedding - From Kaloya Park to Ellison Hall Sampler
This was a unique wedding in every sense of the word. Start at 7:00am, ceremony at 10:30, formals done by 1pm. And the theme? Brunch.
Letâs not get ahead of ourselves, though! This story starts at 7am, at an airbnb in Oyama. The flowers had already been prepared, and they looked incredible.
Just outside, there was a small park. I decided itâd be a perfect place to photograph the wedding dress. As the sun rose, it cast lovely angular shadows along the ground. This was the early morning look I had wanted. Starting things on the right foot.
I ducked back into the airbnb and replaced the dress. Brittany Martiniuk was busy at work, doing what she does best.
Over at the guys house, they had just begun to get ready. Everything was laid out. By me, because I really enjoy making making arrangements.
It was hustle and bustle. The house was full of friends and relatives, and moms snapping pictures.
We finished up, and then I made my way back to the girls.
Our bride looked amazing. I was secretly stoked she wore the glasses through the whole ceremony. They completely suit her, and it adds so much personality.
I wasnât the only one who thought she looked amazing. Dad was coming through the doorâŚ.
He looked for a second, and immediately hugged her.
âI knew I wouldnât tear up!â, he exclaimed proudly. âBut I brought this just in case!â, he exclaimed, holding up the tissue paper.
Our venue is one of the prettiest venues in all of Kelowna, Kaloya Park. If you get there at just the right time, the sun reflects from the sand, giving the wedding an ethereal look. Of course, we arrived at just the right time. The father-of-the-bride walked her proudly down the aisle.
When he turned the cornerâŚ.well, I have a hard time exclaiming this with words.
He was absolutely floor. The way he looked at her through the entire ceremony almost brings a tear to my eye.
   It was really something else.
The ceremony was heartfelt. They exchanged vows under the old tree. The wind blew north, over the lake, keeping us nice and cool.
I donât think there was a dry eye in the house.
And then, we had man and wife.
After family photos, it was just the three of us. Kaloya is amazing because there are so many place to shoot. We shot in five locations, those lovely green overgrown photos I love.
I enjoy a may wedding. Itâs nice and cool, especially right next to the lake. We shot for almost an hour under the shade of the ancient green trees.
Thatâs more formals than usual. Because I like these formals.
Time to make our way to Ellison Hall!
The decorations, the cake, it was all phenominal.
Chalkboards on the wall encourage creativity. With games outside, crossword puzzles, and an instamatic picture book, there wasnât a dull moment. Well, except for maybe this little guy.
I especially enjoyed the coffee bar.
The cake was a show stopper too, though.
Unfortunately, though, this is where Iâll have to leave you.
Keep in mind, this isnât all the photos. This is a sampler, 42 of the photos taken today. A decent sized sneak peek, if you will. Thereâs a full album coming out in about 3 weeks, though. Itâs a wonderful story. This is simply a sampler, a selection of a few favourites throughout the day to show you.
If you personally know the bride and groom, feel free to contact me by clicking here. Let me know who you are, along with the bride and groomâs name, and Iâll make sure you get a link to the finished album!
If youâd like to keep a picture, even on mobile, just click it and it will open in a separate window. You can save it from there.
If you know someone whoâd like to see this sneak peek, feel free to click one of the share buttons on the top or  bottom of this entry, to share and tag them! Although I try to get the word out, a lot of family members and amazing bridesmaids and groomsmen donât know about these samplers!
Thank you for reading this far. I put a lot of time and work into these sneak peeks so itâs great that youâve taken the time to read all this!
