+ Don't chase the rabbit
"Who are you right now? I feel like I don’t even know this woman speaking to me. Where is my perfect little sub, huh?"
His soft, tender tone of voice angered her. Kahi’s eyes burned with the sting of angry tears. “Am I supposed to find anything you just said any less hurtful because you’re not yelling it, or?”
"What is hurtful about what I’m saying? You know, this is hurting me… It’s like you lied to me about who you are. It’s like I fell in love with a persona you made up for an art class—”
“Oh my God, Dongmin.” she interrupted, looking at him incredulously as the tears fell down her cheeks. “Are you even listening to yourself? I was always, always truthful with you. I didn’t know about these sorts of desires—what don’t you understand about that?”
"You can’t just be completely sub one day and then suddenly want to start being dominant the next—it doesn’t work like that," he countered, tone getting harder, more offended. "I fell in love with my perfect little sub. Now she’s gone and replaced with this woman who wants to put a fake cock in my ass?"
Kahi covered her face with both of her hands for a moment, attempting to calm herself down. His stupidity was making her blood boil, and heart break. “It does work like that. Most people are not one polar opposite extreme or the other—” She cut herself off, another thought angering her into switching to another topic. “And another thing—you can’t fucking put me on a pedestal like that. You set yourself up for this disappointment, doing that. I’m sorry, okay?! I’m sorry that I liked dominating that pet… which, let me remind you, you fucking brought in. What did you fucking expect would happen?”
"I EXPECTED MY PERFECT LITTLE SUB WOULD JUST FOLLOW MY ORDERS, FOR MY PLEASURE!” Dongmin shouted suddenly, veins popping out in his neck and face going red as he strode over to her quickly. She backed away. “I’m this goddamn close, Kahi. This fucking close to punishing you—maybe then you’ll fucking come to your goddamn senses.” She didn’t even look at him, shaking her head, face still hidden behind her hands. He grabbed her shoulders roughly—aiming to bruise—and shook her. “Are you fucking listening to me? LOOK AT ME WHEN I’M TALKING TO YOU!”
Kahi pressed her hands to his chest and pushed hard, making him stumble back. His eyes were wild when he finally found sure footing, and he lunged at her. “DONGMIN, STOP!” she cried, quickly scrambling out of the way of his reaching hands.
"YOU DON’T GET TO MAKE THE COMMANDS, HERE. WHY WON’T YOU SUBMIT TO ME ANYMORE?? WHY DON’T YOU LOVE ME ANYMORE??" He pursued her again, and she once again had to practically jump out of the way.
When he crashed into the table behind her, she bolted for the front door, not even bothering to get her wallet or shoes. She grabbed her car keys and practically flew out the door and down the stairs to the parking garage. She ran to her car and jumped into the driver’s seat once she yanked the door open, hastily backing out and driving away, heaving sobs escaping her and making her body tremble as tears streamed down her face. At the first stop light, Kahi took off her engagement ring, rolled down the window, and threw it into traffic.
