'Don't rush after work,' he said. 'Go to your boyfriend first', he said. Oh, yes, all considered and appreciated, but! No other choice when said boyfriend was busy, yes? Rather out and about than soak up empty space indoors. Besides! Birthday wishes had been exchanged first thing in the morning. No harm. Gift this time around was rather lengthy in height and bundled clumsily in the cheesiest Christmas papers anyone could ever imagine. Green with reindeer and lights all around. Perhaps unfitting for gift and day, but with celebrations so dangerously close to the holidays, there was no other choice. Hm.                         Aaaaaaaaaaaand, doorbell. Ding ding!

One more Christmas to mark the calender, and oddly, spirits seemed to be absent from this year's meeting. Nobody felt the mood for it. Gifts given with artificial smiles of obligation and even the brightest of trees lavished with decor couldn't lift the average citizen's lips. It'd rubbed on her. Despite constant fighting against the negativity, this year simply felt lonely. Or was change supposed to leave one feeling desolate?                                 ...Maa, ii. A single Christmas present was bundled limply in her bag of red cotton and fluff as gloved finger pushed against a rusted doorbell she knew well. It'd been a while. A long while.

(( ☼ It was just a simple get-together. Not even a date. Just to spend their final day of break with one another; working on homework they hadn't tackled and mixing up a fun pizza or two for dinner at her 'new' home. Yet, despite all this, it still didn't stop her from being 'late' to her own abode nor did it ease her into this idea that maybe, juuust maybe... it was alright to wear pajamas and ditch the hard efforts of putting together an outfit.                  She played it as casual as she could. A white v-neck with a frilled collar layered over a blank tank top and a high-waisted skirt in crisp black. Gold trimmings. Her collarbone-length hair was lightly waved and her pesky bangs were pulled back in a puff. All this. Just to scribble on some paper and get dirty with flour with a guy who didn't even know what color coordination was. Rin sighed, resting her anxious feelings in her fiddling thumbs as she waited for him to knock. He hadn't gotten lost, had he? Then just before she could question anything else, she heard plastic bags rustling outside of her door and she bolted upward to swing the door open before he could even knock.                                                      "Len! Hi!" Aaahh--                           "Good afternoon, I-- here, come on in."

The girl tried her best to be composed. "Oh, that? That...that was Romeo and Cinderella. I loved its story on how forbidden lovers still fight for their love." She grinned sheepishly. "Was I loud enough? I bet I sang like a dying walrus."

A short and brunette girl sat down on a bench at a park one sunny day. Earphones plugged in, she shuts off the world, bringing her imagination to no limits while singing along to the song "Romeo and Cinderella". But her phone buzzed off. "Oh, shoot. I'm out of battery," she mutters, taking her earphones off. Bored, she looks around and observes the usual visitors of the park. A boy with ponytailed blond hair and blue eyes staring at her caught her attention. Oh. My. Isn't he--? The boy smiles at her. He then stood up and briskly walks towards her direction.
