Gravdal’s music has changed throughout the years. The band started their career in the form of music which is mostly known as “True Norwegian Black Metal” but later they separated from that era and now by the release of their latest record Kadaverin Gravdal are experiencing progressive black metal, which is so similar to what Ihsahn has done since his 2010 masterpiece After. I’m not going to say this is a rip-off, which is absolutely not. They’ve used that album’s structure to reconstruct their current musical shape.
Self-titled opening song completely shows how the band are doing right at this moment of their career which is more in artistic form of black metal genre. Gravdal’s Kadaverin is definitely a victorious release and one of the best black metal releases of 2017.
