What would you do if you had the opportunity to change your life? Not just where you live or who you hang out with, but your past, present,
oh shoot i forgot to post here, but megamorphs 4 is finished!
Happy pride to Tate from Remnants who is I think one of the first LGBTQ+ characters I can remember being exposed to when growing up.
Scholastic censored aspects of the series that were more open about her sexuality - lesbian - when these books were initially coming out in the early 2000s, so there are actually different versions of certain books.
I have vivid memories of her hair being described in the book I had as a kid as a style that in-universe was popular among queer youth but in the version of the book I own now it is merely described as cool/fashionable essentially.
In the Gone series by Michael Grant (who helped co-write Remnants) - a lot of Remnants characters kind of have archetypes reused lol and Dekka in many ways is Tate if she was written during less censored times.
Remnants has such lovely lesbian rep in Tate, one of our kindest and most selfless Remnants β€οΈ, so I really wanted to get a feel for drawing her next. I've got decently solid looks for Yago, 2Face, and now Tate. I think next I'll work on Jobs and Mo. After a few more sketches with Tate, Yago, and Amelia lol. I also sketched a very sketchy cover redraw from the cover that features Tate in her limelight moment!
Tate, Yago, and Amelia really set the standard in terms of platonic found family AND interesting shared conciousness/body dynamics for me lol
Reading The Unknown for the first time and I think my favorite part is Cassie's parents insinuating Cassie was out having a three way with Jake and Rachel

I can't believe it only took 3 books for Animorphs to address the subject of middle school aged kids having animal instincts that include the desire to mate with other animals.
Book Joy!
So I finished a long, difficult project recently, and it paid very well, and I was browsing eBay and discovered the entire Animorphs series for $100 cheaper than I've been seeing it, so...
And look how neatly they're packed!! So space-efficient! It makes it hard to want to unpack them (and also I don't have the shelf space for them all just yet).
When the series was originally coming out, I faithfully bought each new volume every month, and I had the entire series, and then as an adult I ignored all the joy they'd brought me, gave in to "adults shouldn't read children's books" bullshit, and donated them to a church garage sale. It only took me about 2-5 years to regret that decision.
I downloaded the PDFs so I was able to reread them once I realized my mistake, but I definitely cried more than once about giving them away.
And now I have them back!!

Also, I've been enjoying rereading Long Live Evil by Sarah Rees Brennan, and ever since I became aware of the Fairyloot edition of that book, I've wanted it.
And thanks to more projects, I acquired this as well!
Title in a different color!
A reversible cover!! (Sexy sexy Rae)
End-paper art!
Sprayed edges!
Meta-title on the hardcover inside!
And a bonus chapter and a letter from the author... everything I could have imagined and more!
