I sometimes think about the letter KA Applegate posted for her fans who were disappointed by the ending of her series, and while I understand simply not liking how a story ends, I really respect her reasoning.
Like you can dislike the ending, that's fine.
But her reasoning is very interesting to read. And I really enjoy the framing of the anti war message.

NaNoWriMo is out, the K. A. Applegate writing challenge is in: Write a 20k word novella each month for five years without stopping. Every six months you must also write an additional 30k novella. After the first two years you're allowed to get ghost writers.

'Did you know KA Applegate has a trans child and is supportive of them?' yes I would hope that the person who wrote over sixty books where characters try to commit suicide over being literally trapped in the wrong body would be understanding and supportive of their trans child
