So currently i’ve been working on a fanfic for mikototsu week. It started with one little headcanon that i like to tell you now, because my fanfic will be in german because my english isn’t that great (as you can see) and german is my native language. But i want to share my headcanon with all of you guys!

So, I was rereading Memory of Red, and I couldn’t help but think (again) how different is the manga style from the anime style; I love both styles, but I got curious thinking how some panels would look with a style more similar to the anime, so I decided to try and redraw one of the cutest panels! (Then I realized MoR is being animated soon and there’s a chance we see this part with the anime style so all this was useless but oh well) I couldn’t decide which one to post bc the manga panel doesn’t have a background but I also wanted to make it as it would be in the anime, so I’m just posting both xD

TDLR: Parts that were in the manga..... imo manga did it better. But new stuff & funeral omake manga and CRY short story adaption was niceeeeeeeeee

Which then cuts directly to Anime Season 1 video camera footage. I for one was esp disappointed here bc the few panels of totsuka being excited to see someone on the rooftop was cute and got ignored :( *mumbles mumbles the manga did it better mumbles mumbles*

The dramatic cut from video to actual BANG was A++++

nice to see a bit of what happened after the camera was cut

Next part, Pink’s (apparently deadpan) commentary was something along the lines of “At this point in time, Totsuka was really planning to go back to where everyone was. But when he kept trying and failed, that’s when he realised ah, he’s going to die.”

Other commentary, the mountain road, that’s symbolically named the ~ road to heaven ~ and is also meant to parallel that time he crashed into mikoto on his bike

Also in the movie you can clearly tell the “no matter which i do, both will be troublesome” part refers to Totsuka trying to decide whether to call King or Kusanagi-san.

I also appreciate the whole “The butterfly symbolises totsuka’s soul leaving him” thing .... BUT HE’S NOT DEAD YET!!!!!! OI!!!!!!!! SOULLL COME BACK!!!!!!

S4 scene.... honestly the objective message from Kusanagi to Seri was very D: *glances at kusanagi short story* *feels sad*

It’s nice to see Hisui and Iwa show up. They used the movie as a season 1 hook pretty well tbh. The whole beginning and end theme.

Also Neko..... and this time... ANOTHER KING SPEC OF LIGHT!!!!!! lol

Would’ve been cool if we had the whole “circle of friends + embarassed totsuka and yata” flashback in the movie like the manga did... but i guess it’d ruin the serious gloomy mood :’)

Funeral scene yoooooooo. The beach was pretttttty. Open casket!!!! A proper casket!!!! (lbr, the manga one looked like a cardboard box :’D)

Friendly reminder that the rose that Anna gave to Totsuka is the same rose Totsuka gave to Mikoto to give to Anna.jpg :))) Also. Anna’s face ;-;

THE BURNING SCENE + THE “KISS” SCENE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly they adapted the ‘everything quickly burnt into nothing’ perfectly. Also have heard so much about the “kiss” scene from spoilers and it did not fail to deliver!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously the beach and sky is so pretty ;-;
