11 April 2023
I rebuilt the pipe manifold for the bog filter in #JysGarden #pond SIX TIMES today, and it's still not working properly.
I decided to install it anyway (at half working) because I had wasted $200 worth of parts and two days on this and I need it done... ðŸ˜
Hopefully this won't bite me later
Also: my pipe cutter broke
A slow air leak in one of my inflatable pools holding pond water caused me to lose ~100 gallons overnight
This pond expansion has NOT been going well for me

#JysGarden #pond liner came today. It was 500 lbs! Had to get help from 2 different people, but it's in, now.
Meanwhile, my #bogfilter was having issues and I had to do some emergency surgery. I won't get into it, but basically today was another not-great pond day lmao
It got stuck and I can't be bothered to try to make another post with all the alt text and everything 😩

I am #pond cursed.
There was a leak I couldn't find for a year and a half, and instead of calling it quits like a normal person I spent 5k redoing the whole thing and making it bigger.
The bog part alone was like $500 and still ended up wrong, even though I remade it 4 times.
I finally "finished" everything right before I left for FWA, but I noticed it losing water about 3 days before.
When I came home from FWA (thursday) my pond was half empty, pumps running dry, all my pond plants dead or dying.
I was pretty sure I knew where the leak was (where the liner from the bog connects to the pond liner) so I patched that up immediately after getting home and let it sit for 24 hours.
Yesterday I started filling the pond again.
It lost like 2 inches overnight.
I guess now I'll let it leak with all the pumps off to see how low it gets to see if I fixed what actually needed to be fixed, but honestly at this point I'm not sure what I should do.
I really want a pond and I know every year I say this will be the last year but at this point working on the pond is practically what I live for so to lose that would be devastating…
