unwillingly shared secrets
Ilhoon doesnât usually acknowledge the recruits and grunts that pass through Hwangto Maeul on their way to the base below the shop; sure, he has to look at their faces and know whether or not to let them in, but recognizing another Rocket isnât something he finds particularly difficult even without some kind of ID; the higher-ups are usually more subtle, but grunts typically have a certain air to them than the average customer who comes in looking to buy honey or herbal supplements.
That doesnât seem to be so much the case with the Rocket he let into the base earlier--his vibe was different; he seemed almost nervous to even be there. Though to be fair, Ilhoon's also unsure if the strange feeling he gets from the other is partially a result of his own gaze instead of some kind of inner turmoil with the other man. (He knows his stare is anything but friendly, though thatâs rather the way he prefers it these days.)
Under his counter, a dim red light flashes as someone signals from the other side of the cabinet theyâd like out--not very subtle of HQ, Ilhoon often thinks with amusement--but often this base is anything but subtle and heâs sure to the more perceptive it may feel even sinister. (He thinks itâs funny, in a way, but he is always entertained by these kinds of things.)
He knows thereâs no one in the shop, no ding at the entrance since the last customer walked out an hour ago. He turns to face the cabinet door as it opens in the hopes itâs the guy who came in earlier just to scrutinize him again. To his delight, it is.
âFeels like someoneâs in an awful hurry to get in and out,â he remarks, gaze flicking back over the other Rocketâs face.
Thereâs something... else there though--and a question bubbles from Ilhoonâs mouth before he has a chance to ponder the wisdom of asking it.
   âDo I--do I know you from somewhere?â
