The ball hits the Oddish and the Pokemon is sucked into the ball with a flash of red light. It lands on the ground, wiggling twice... before the capture light winks out. Congratulations! You've caught an Oddish (male, level 19, Chlorophyll).
His fingers were crossed the whole time as he stared at the ball on the ground as it wiggled. For a single moment, it felt like time had simply stopped. He hadnât even noticed that he had stopped breathing completely until the capture light winked out. Apparently, his luck had improved tenfold as he had only needed to use one of the safari balls to catch the Oddish, unlike the three he had to waste on Joltik only a short while ago.
Grinning, the Ranger strode forward to pick up the ball off the ground, tossing it a couple of times in his hand to get a good feel for it. âYouâre mine now,â he spoke to the safari ball, letting those words sink in for a moment before he tossed it forward, releasing the PokĂ©mon inside back into the world.âHello, there,â he greeted with a smile, âI would like to take this moment to thank you for being a lot easier to catch than my last PokĂ©mon was.â His words were probably not very understood, but in that moment, he frankly didnât care. Now all he needed to worry about was coming up with a decent name. This was something he was actually finding a little harder than he had been expecting to be, a deep frown creasing his brow as he stared at the Oddish for a moment longer. But his mind continued to pull up a blank. He sighed. âYou know what? Iâll think of something later.â And by that, he meant he would call his sister again to get her input.
