"Can you watch my dog for me this weekend?"
One can never bebored with Jooyeon near, sheâs once thought. She hasnât been wrong â how couldshe? The older woman is ever surprising and innovative, and sheâs alwayspresenting a new challenge to Seren, whether it is just another regular sliceof the life of humans on this world, or something that feels foreign even tothem. The elf has to admit (albeit rather begrudgingly) that she does enjoy it.The enthusiasm with which the older woman takes life is intoxicating, and shecan feel the remnants of that rush for days after they meet up, no matter forhow short a period they do.
When she bargesat Serenâs door, with her puppy at her heel, a hopeful smile on her lips andher pet-sitting request, the younger girl wants to say ânoâ at first, only totest her friend⌠but she doesnât quite have the heart to, and it seems asthough the dog knows it already, because itâs rushed into the apartment as soonas Seren opened the door, making itself at home right away, refusing to expectan invitation. Seren canât help but laugh as she watches the pup â it knowsbest, after all. âAh, why not? Iâm sureMyfanwy will love the company.â
âI wanted to leave one last message for my ex to tell them to fuck off but oops wrong number, didnât mean to yell at you instead.â
At first, she doesnât even know what to say â how can one beexpected to answer to such an excuse? Trouble is, like Varric once said, themore ridiculous a story was, the more likely it was to be true, if for no otherreason, at least because no one would be able to conceive such a foolish lie. âThatâs how you know itâs true! I couldnever put that in a book. Too unlikely.â The memory of the dwarfâs smileover the game of Wicked Grace, his lined face and kind expression were enoughto bring the sting of tears in her eyes, and a little tremor in her voice whenshe finally spoke.
âDonât you think you ought to make sure youâvegot the right person before startingyour little speech? I mean, it just seems like a terrible waste of breath tohave to go over it multiple times. Or do you think the practice will do yougood?â She inquired, doing her best to hide the little shaking of her voice, to keepit on the same humorous note it usually lingered at. Was she successful? Shehad no idea. âButâŚI know of a way you canmake it up to me! Profiteroles. Just⌠Makerâsbreath, donât try baking them yourself.â
âWhere did we go wrong?â
Sheâd given up on colouringher hair a few days past, and now she couldnât help but think of the irony ofit all â with the cloud of flour that had covered everything as a result oftheir rather petty attempt to bake, it seemed as though she was a statue, carved entirely of white marble. The result wasnât quite as definitive for hercompanion, her dark hair standing out against the powdery mask, but it wascomical nonetheless, and Seren had a hard time focusing on the question atfirst â she needed to wait for Jooyeon to repeat it. But it wasnât somethingnew, not really. She had the attention span of a child, so easily distractedthat everyone that knew the first thing about her was aware of the need torepeat themselves.
âGo wrongâŚ? I, ah⌠I told you Iâm no good atthis!â But sheâd tried tobe, and perhaps that had been the biggest mistake. She thought that a gust ofwind here, and a more intense flame there would make up for her utter lack ofskills in the kitchen, and sheâd been wrong. But sheâd done her best, and, somehow, that was enough to make her feel good â so good that she couldnât bebothered with starting to think about how long it would take her to clean upthe kitchen. âWeâll get it rightâŚeventually.â
âš.
Send ââšâ and Iâll put up my museâs current thought
I miss her...

jvpal:
Whatâs good?
All good in the hood.
Hey, husband.
Babe
Underwater
[ jvpal ] Â The water levels continued rising as the two went further into the deep end of the pool, their fingers interlocked in an attempt to not lose each other and stay at a constant speed. Once the water had come up to their collar bones both of their eyes met each others, knowing exactly what came next. It was a game, honestly, and she was determined to win. âBet you I can stay under longer.â And as the words left her lips she darted below the water, the other girl following immediately. The first ten seconds were easy, the next ten made it hard to stay still, and she quickly realized if Nari didnât quit soon, she would end up losing. Pulling a secret move her fingers left the girls to be brought up to her cheeks, pulling her body against her own on impact. It was quite awkward, with both of their cheeks being puffed out, nevertheless; she still pressed her lips against the youngers, hoping the startling action would cause her to gasp up for air.
The challenge issued from her friendâs lips turned a switch in Nariâs brain and immediately she went into her more competitive mode. She couldnât help herself sometimes, some things just made her feel the need to be competitive and a bet was definitely one of them. She ducked under the water easily, her purple bun becoming dark as it was drenched with water. The first fifteen seconds were easy, the next five were definitely less easy but she had a relatively good lung capacity despite the amount of smoking she did when she was on exchange in high school. What surprised her, however, was the kiss and she let go of the wall and ended up floating to the surface, gasping for air. âUnni!â she gasped, âIf you wanted to kiss me you shouldâve just told me,â she drawled once she had her breath back. She grinned lazily and pulled herself out onto the side of the pool easily, laying back onto the warmed concrete and enjoying the sunâs warmth on her stomach and face. âThat was dirty cheating though,â she said, sitting back up and crossing her arms over her chest.Â
