“ehhh, how mean.” he replies, but it’s more perfunctory than it is a genuine complaint, and none of the glimmer in his eyes goes out at ohta’s provocation. his brother wasn’t going to let him starve, sei thinks with a mental roll of his eyes. who else would be here to entertain his need to be listened to? talking to himself — though they certainly practiced a variation of it — didn’t have the same appeal. sei would know.

“ah, but you see, i don’t really give all that much of a shit what the general public thinks,” he says cheerfully, settling himself in at their dining table. might as well start making headway on the lip service due to earn his place back at their meal, after all. a thoughtful hum slips out as he rests a cheek against his palm, “and look, since you’re so wise, nii-san, is it so strange that i’d want your input? you usually have something to say, even if it’s not something i can repeat word for word on live television.” his grin doesn’t waver through the speech, fully aware he’s gone past the point of buttering up and straight into creepy fan behavior territory.

speaking of fans… “oh, it’s my fault? you’re just scared you’ll lose if you take him up on it.” sei snatches the phone back with a huff, fingers flying across the screen as he types out a response.

11:43 pm: you’re hilarious. if you can’t beat me when i’m holding back, i’m afraid your chances of winning without handicap will be even slimmer.

he pauses. “...if i’m taking over the night shift for you, does that mean i can cash it in for a daytime interview one of these days? i’d love to see you on tv, nii-san.”

11:45 pm: but if you want so badly to lose again… i’m sure i can make time for a game or two.

“ if you misquote hegel one more time on live television i will strangle you. ”

the casualness of ohta’s voice belies his intentions. as ohta’s brother, it’s a notion he’s intimately familiar with, and thus not at all afraid of, despite the apparent thread of danger laced in the threat.

“ haha, not a fan of the speech i gave today? ” goro shrugs off his jacket in a practiced motion, shedding with it the skin of akechi goro, detective. he stretches, and as he relaxes he feels himself slipping back into simply sei, younger brother of the two.

❓ — three adjectives that describe you I like to think funny, creative, and empathetic - those are the words that people have used for me before, and I think they fit pretty well.

💘 — what and/or who do you consider near and dear to you? First and foremost is my family- who also includes my closest friends (online or otherwise). I was bullied a lot as a kid and really had no real friends- but then I found a bunch of wierdos that liked what I did! I vowed to make that group a safe place for everyone that joined. Sounds a little sappy, but essentially they are part of my family. Adult stuff keeps us apart, but when we get together we’re a bunch of cringy teenagers again.

💖 — what was one of the greatest/happiest moments you’ve had in the rpc? So, one of the RPC that I was a part of was the Fullmetal Alchemist fandom, and they were some of the sweetest people I ever met. We would Skype for HOURS and had our own worldbuilding AUs- one of my mutuals even made me a doll of my muse and sent it to me! I still have it.
