A Life to Remember || A Photo Opportunity (drabble)
//This has nothing to do with the main plot of my thread with Justkili, this is just a little drabble that I made up myself because the idea popped into my head while we were doing the thread and I just had to write it down. ((On a side note- I'm really sorry Justkili-mun if I do not do Kilian justice in this but I hope you like this anyway :) ))
Flynn had been in his dark room for most of the morning, developing the photos from the last time Kilian and him went wandering around Auckland. He'd taken the taller male to the Sky Tower, thinking it would be a nice day out and that Kilian might enjoy seeing a bit more of his new home. Flynn had taken his camera with him but as a bit of fun the two of them had purchased a couple cheap disposable cameras from the tourist guide centre to mess around with. When they'd gotten home from their trip out yesterday, Flynn had made it a mini challenge for himself to see if he could successfully develop the disposable camera's photos instead of taking them to a developers. He knew enough about photo development anyway, but hadn't factored in getting the film out of the damn thing. What was it, welded in there? Thus Flynn had spent the better part of his morning tucked away in his darkroom, Kilian having said he would be fine around the house for a while by himself.
After finally having some success with the cheap disposable camera, Flynn finished up what he was doing, cleared away everything so it was all tidy and left the darkroom. He wandered through the house, noting the sinking sun outside and the late hour, so decided he should probably start cooking them both dinner now, but he wasn't sure what Kilian fancied to eat. He went in search of his lover, ready to call out his name when Flynn walked into their bedroom and paused at the sight.
Kilian was asleep, obviously having decided a nap would pass the time while Flynn was busy. The warm light of the sun poured over his sleeping form making the edged of his deep, black curls rimmed with gold. One arm was folded under Kilian's head as a pillow, the other resting along his side, his shirt had ridden up slightly at the hem to reveal a slight slip of skin of his middle. Flynn's blue eyes tracked over the picture before him, thinking he'd never seen anything more beautiful. He quickly crept back out of their bedroom and dashed to get his camera. There was no way he was going to pass up this photo opportunity.
Once he'd gotten his camera and returned to the room, Flynn smiled when he saw that Kilian hadn't woken or moved since Flynn had been gone. He quickly adjusted the settings on his camera to make sure he captured everything just right, wanting to preserve the gold halo around Kilian's head, the way the light cast shadows across his face, that both accentuated his angles and softened his features in sleep. When everything was perfect, Flynn began to take picture after picture. He moved around Kilian subtly, getting different positions and shots without waking his love.
However Kilian's sleep was not to last and eventually he cracked one eyes open and looked at Flynn with a small frown, which only spurred the photographer on more, taking even more photos of Kilian's sleep face as he woke.
"That's not creepy at all." Kilian joked, his voice slightly rough from sleep. Flynn laughed from behind his camera as he took his final few photos before he stopped too look back over them.
"Sorry, I couldn't help it. You just looked so perfect when I found you." The blond explained as he flicked through the images he had captured on his camera.
"Can I see them?" Kilian asked, sitting up more and trying to look at the screen on Flynn's camera from over the shorter man's shoulder.
Flynn quickly stood up from where he had been sat on the bed and pulled the camera out of Kilian's view. "Not yet. Once I've put them on my laptop you can...maybe." The blond teased. Kilian pouted slightly, looking up at Flynn with pleading brown eyes.
"But I want to see them Fly, please?" He asked.
"You'll just have to wait." Flynn smirked before he pressed a quick kiss to Kilian's lips and left the room to go upload the photos, all original thoughts of asking about food far from his mind now.
Flynn sat on the couch with his laptop and uploaded the photos from his camera's memory card. As he flicked through them again on the bigger screen, noting some he liked a lot and other not so much, Kilian had crept up behind him and was leaning over the back of the couch, watching Flynn work.
"They're really good Fly." He said, causing Flynn to jump slightly, so caught up in his work.
"Jeeze Kil, warn a guy would you." Flynn complained, frowning back at Kilian who simply laughed and sat down beside Flynn on the couch. "But I'm glad you like them." He said, smiling as he pulled up his favourite on the screen for Kilian to see.
Kilian hooked his fingers under Flynn's bearded chin and turned his head so they locked eyes. "I love them." He smiled and kissed him.
