Goodbyes aren't forever, but it's always good to capture the moment for memories.
Meeting her friends outside, so she wouldn't disturb her mother's rest, Jihanna was most surprised to see Jayden standing in her front yard.
Because she was moving away, she knew she had to at least hear him out. Maybe they wouldn't be close again, but there was no need to end with bad feelings between them.
Even in the middle of all that she was dealing with, Kaliah gave Jihanna a gentle reminder that life was short and things happen in the blink of an eye. She knew her daughter had been wrestling for months with avoiding her original best friend, and if Jihanna felt it would be worth it to forgive or hash things out, she should do that while she had the chance.
It wasn't the full and immediate return to the way things had been, as Jayden had hoped, but he was glad to know he could keep up with his old friend on social media every now and then. That was enough for both of the kids for now.
Maira had been in her feelings all day long. While she had other friends, Jihanna was her number one and she hadn't a clue what she was going to do now that she wouldn't be able to see her every day.
She kept her tears at bay, because Jihanna made them all promise not to cry, but inside Maira was torn up.
Aaliyah, who'd had her own goodbye moment with Jihanna a few days prior, stood to the side waiting to hold and hug Maira whenever she finally let her tears fall.
Last, there was Tevin. Very little was said, just a sweet confession that made the young boy's heart swell. A moment, a quick kiss, that neither of them would ever forget. A promise to, at least, keep in touch outside of social media once Jihanna was able to give out her new information. An assurance that they'd cross paths again someday.
