I used the comic panel above, to my #DreamGirl moodboard. Originally I felt the the dialogue in the specific panel related more to my book then the comic, but after learning more about the series I can see the similarities.
I think it’s insane how comic art was created before computers were widely used. I don’t think it takes any more or less talent and ability, but through using both a computer and traditional mediums, drawing the comic panel above with pen and ink would feel more raw then on a computer.
The panel above comes from, Vampirella #14, publish November 1971 by Warren Publishing, with Script and Art by Tom Sutton

Roland Krawulsky’s photographs are summed up perfectly by the name of his studio, Dark Art. The photo series (of which the above photo belong), Eros and Thanatos is beautiful and haunting. Check out his website for more, or see his images in person at exhibits across Germany!

Art by Rozanne Hermelyn Di Silvestro.
(Sources linked below)
I stumbled upon a piece of her art through Pinterest, and in my quest to find the original source I found so much more.
Meet Rozanne Hermelyn Di Silvestro, a decorated artist from the San Francisco Bay Area. When speaking on the process of creating art, she says,
“The start of a painting is the most onerous step for me. I feel as though, I can’t just paint a stroke, I must paint an inspired stroke. It is both harrowing yet freeing at the same time. I find that this uncomfortable space is where my best creative work develops. This potential inspires my romance with the monotype printmaking technique...” (1)
Her art speaks to me in ways I find difficult to describe. I feel drawn to the brush strokes, destined to gaze on the uniformity of color and place. The image above is a piece from her series “Hidden Faces and Figures Series” titled “Wings”. Her website Portfolio says of the piece,
“We are born with wings of great potential, ideals, and dreams. The image captures the moment of unfolding when we decide to move forward, take chances, and learn to soar.” (2)
Visit her website or Pinterest for portfolios of her work, or even better purchase a piece for yourself @Hermelyn

Today's artist is found on a wonderful website that details this artist, and many others from the 20th and 19th centuries @ArtPassions.net (source listed below)
The Artist: Virginia Frances Sterrett
"Virginia Frances Sterrett (1900-1931) was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1900. She was an introverted child who preferred the world of imagination and drawing to social interaction with other children at school." (1)
Virginia worked as an artist for a French advertising campaign in the early twentieth century and in the true tragedy of her era, died of Tuberculosis in the 1930s.
"The comments of the St Louis Post-Dispatch in the supplement published following Sterrett's death (published July 5, 1931) pay fitting tribute to her life and work:
“Her achievement was beauty, a delicate, fantastic beauty, created with brush and pencil. Almost unschooled in art, her life spent in prosaic places of the West and Middle West, she made pictures of haunting loveliness, suggesting Oriental lands she never saw and magical realms no one ever knew except in the dreams of childhood...Perhaps it was the hardships of her own life that gave the young artist's work its fanciful quality. In the imaginative scenes she set down on paper she must have escaped from the harsh actualities of existence." (2)
Explore the website Artpassions for more information on the artist, as well as scans of Virginia’s art. The individual(s) who run the site have painstakingly and lovingly taken the time to scan the images into a database for others to view. Explore the website to discover more art by Virginia, and others:)

I hate the internet.
An image I did not use for my #Dreamgirl moodboard.
Some of the sources for this image are (using TinyEye, and Reverse Google Image Search), an Etsy page selling magic spells for positive dreams, an article in Chinese on the rise of short poems, an article titled “Shanghai, you are making us feel "betrayed", a perfume company based in Singapore that creates custom scents, and many, many more.
With the number of articles in Chinese that posted this image, I’m guessing the image wasn’t posted on google initially? Maybe I’ll do a reverse image search on Bidu later.
