[BEGIN TRANSCRIPT]
The door to Dr. Etoâs office opens, and Superman steps inside. His cape sways slightly as he moves, an imposing yet calm figure. Thereâs a gentle clink of his boots on the floor as he takes a seat, looking slightly uncomfortable but trying to keep it together. Dr. Eto offers a welcoming smile, gesturing to the cozy setup in the room. A toy box is neatly placed on one side of the room, surrounded by an assortment of plush toys, and a tray of cookies and cocoa sits on the coffee table.
Dr. Eto: grinning, offering a warm, inviting smile âWelcome, Superman. Please, take a seat. Iâve got fresh cookies and cocoa, and a toy box if you need it. Youâve had a long day, havenât you?â
Superman (Clark Kent): slightly amused but still cautious, taking a seat carefully âIâve⌠had a long week, actually. Itâs not often I get time to do this. But Iâm here. So⌠this is all for me?â gestures around at the toy box and cocoa
Dr. Eto: chuckling lightly âYes, all for you. Therapy can be hard work. I thought Iâd make it as comfortable as possible.â she gestures to the toy box âI find that a little distraction can sometimes ease the mind. And I do know youâve had your fair share of heavy moments, so the cookies are a small treat to remind you that you deserve to relax.â
Superman: smiling faintly, though still cautious âWell, I canât say no to cookies. But Iâm not sure how effective this will be. Youâre⌠Batmanâs therapist, right?â
Dr. Eto: nodding casually, setting the cocoa down in front of him âThatâs right. And youâre on the Justice League, so, naturally, Iâve been hired to help out with some of the mental health stuff going on here. We all have our battles. Even heroes.â
Superman: frowning slightly, looking at the toy box, then back at her âI donât know what to say⌠Iâve never really done this before. Therapy, I mean. I try to keep everything together, stay focused.â
Dr. Eto: gently but firmly âThatâs the thing about keeping it all together, Superman. Sooner or later, it gets heavy. No one can carry the weight of the world alone, not even you. But Iâm not here to judge you. Iâm here to help you sort through the mess, piece by piece.â
Superman glances around the room, seeing the warmth and comfort of the space, and relaxes slightly. He picks up a cookie and takes a bite, considering her words.
Superman: âYou know, Iâve always had a lot of respect for you. Youâve worked with Bruce, the Batfamily, the Justice League⌠Iâve heard a lot about your work. But I didnât realize how much you knew.â
Dr. Eto: smiling softly, leaning forward slightly âIâm involved with a lot of the teams youâre a part of, Superman. I know all about the Injustice League, the Batfamily, and⌠letâs just say, Iâm not fooled by the hair change. Youâre still Clark Kent in my book, no matter what alias you try to use. You can hide your identity with the world, but not from me.â
Superman: pauses, surprised at her bluntness but nodding slowly âI suppose I shouldnât be surprised. You work with Bruce. I guess you would know all the angles. Still, itâs a bit strange hearing you say that so casually.â
Dr. Eto: grinning âI donât exactly keep secrets. But youâd be surprised how many people donât realize their identities are pretty obvious to those paying attention.â pauses, her voice softening âBut enough about the disguise game. Letâs talk about you, Clark. How are you really doing? No superpowers, no justice to save, just you as a person.â
Superman shifts uncomfortably in his seat, the weight of her words hanging in the air. He sets the cookie down and looks at her directly, as if finally ready to admit something heâs been holding back for a while.
Superman: âItâs⌠been hard. The weight of it all, the constant responsibility, the expectations. Iâm expected to be perfect, to never break. But sometimes, I just feel like⌠Iâm not enough. Like no matter how much I try, I canât do everything. I canât save everyone.â
Dr. Eto: nodding in understanding, keeping her voice calm and supportive âThatâs a lot to carry, Clark. Youâre only human, even if you can fly. You canât be everything to everyone, and thatâs okay. No one expects perfection from youâwell, some people do, but theyâre not being fair to you. You have to take care of yourself too, not justÂ
