I am not exaggerating when I say that every person should read this book. I donโt know a single person who doesnโt have a complicated relationship with the food they eat; how many of you dear bookworms label foods โgoodโ or โbadโ or have โtreat daysโ? How many of you feel guilty for eating foods that are not deemed โsocially acceptableโ or for not following the latest fads? Just Eat It by @laurathomasphd is the best anti-diet culture book Iโve ever read. Instead of setting limitations or restrictions like every other diet, Thomasโ only rule? That there arenโt any. Just Eat it focuses on intuitive eating and listening to the needs of YOUR body, the individuality of its wants and needs. We are constantly under pressure to be MORE, that self-improvement (being healthier, fitter, smarter, richer, prettier etc) should be the single focus of our lives. Thomas advocates letting all that go. She advocates that we are enough, and that we should literally learn to trust our guts and what our bodies want. She advocates less pressure, more self-acceptance, less guilt and more self-compassion. . Just Eat It is a call-to-arms to nourish ourselves, both physically and mentally, without food rules, guilt or shame. Since reading this book I have been actively trying to be kinder to myself and working really hard to judge myself less and less. It is a work in progress and I definitely have bad days (where I eat my emotions) but instead of criticising myself even more for it, Iโm learning to be a little more compassionate. This book is for anyone who feels like theyโre not enough. You are. You totally are โค๏ธ . @panmacmillan @bluebirdbooksforlife #justeatit #intuitiveeating #antidiet #loveyourself #selflove #bookreview #bookblogger #bookreviewer #flatlay #flatlaylove #bookish #booklove #bibliophile #bookworm #booknerd #bookaddict #readersofig (at Liverpool) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxPVOspnL1u/?igshid=fp3dn6jss692
