2018年2月24日の第266回山形交響楽団定期演奏会は、プログラムの全てのパフォーマンスが完璧だったと思う。ラーションは初めて聴いたがなんとなく山形っぽい雰囲気を漂わせていた。チャン・ユジンのヴァイオリンは難しいパガニーニをいとも簡単にこなしていた。広上のブラームス交響曲第1番は、これまで聴いたことがないほどアーティキュレーションを強調して、聴く者に曲の構造を理解させる。指揮の身体的パフォーマンスが面白いだけではなく、また演奏者に指示を出しているだけでもなく、今どのパートに注意して聴くべきなのか聴衆に指示を出しているようにも思えるような明解なものだった。ブラームスがこんなに面白い曲だと認識したのは初めてだった。そのぐらい衝撃的な演奏だった。
