Heyyy, here's another Junetendo piece, this time it's for the category "Favorite gamecube game". Metroid Prime was probably my favorite gamecube game, as it was the reason why I even got a gamecube in the first place (Smash Bros. came out after). I got it for my b-day and was so pumped about it and honestly could not believe I managed to get it. I could not stop playing the game once I did get it, the graphics were just so amazing with the weather affects (dem rain drops running down the visor = <333), and it was just so atmospheric and engaging. To be honest, it's the only Metroid game I've ever truly played. (Yes I am highly aware that Super Metroid is amazing, as well as Fusion. I've always wanted to play them, I just never have sat down and done it...) As far as the challenge goes, 5/15 isn't so bad...right?? Right???? To be fair, I've decided to just do the casual mode version of the challenge and just do what I can. :) (I have a commission I'm working on behind the scenes that's taking up a majority of my free art time.) Another side-note; I thought I'd try this black and white only sketchy drawing style. A twitch art streamer I follow has been doing quite a few Warcraft illustrations in this style for practice and it looked like a lot of fun, so I thought I'd try it out! These magical tomes not only guided the player through the game and catalogued every obtainable item, but often contained art from the game. Viewing the art from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars actually inspired my first serious venture into digital art. Of course, this venture utilized the tools available to me at the time, which happened to be the default paint program found in a Macintosh Performa II, so it will forever be lost to time. Another tidbit about the SMRPG:Lot7S game guide was that it contained stats for the enemy characters, which inspired me to create my own tabletop RPG sequel to the game by deconstructing the stats and hand drawing a dozen or so level maps. So, like in all the zelda games I play, the hookshot is easily my favorite peripheral that you acquire, because you can finally go to those damn places they dangle in front of you from the very beginning. It's like this freeing and liberating experience, acquiring the hookshot, so here's a drawing of Link slobbering over it fondly.
