One of this month's art challenge is the Junefae but I will not be participating. But that doesn't mean I can't draw a fairy :D

I was going through a less than stellar time a few months back, and this creature kept darting in and out of my mind, slinking and skulking and skittering through the shadows. I didn’t realize until I started painting her that she’s a guardian- there’s an Irish Gaelic word, Caomhnoir, that means guardian/steward/protector. So maybe I can call her that? And then there’s Aingeal Coimhdeachta, which literally means “the angel who walks beside you”. Angel bit aside, I like the ‘walks beside you’ concept, might go with that. The fae who walks beside me, lol. JuneFae #2 - Water Faerie Probably went a little overboard with this one... spent almost all day on it! XD; Or well not really... but anyways. XD; I was concerned at first she looked too much like a rain faerie with the droplets, but... I guess I’ll see what happens. It got to that stage though where I just kept brushing and brushing so I just decided I oughta submit this before it gets to be like midnight. XD; Should probably loosen up and do more quick ones though.. I mean, the sketch was quick but then I thought mmm this seems incomplete and welp here I am hours later. XD; Anyways... yay more faeries~~! XD;

Rain Spirit, for JuneFae (which apparently I am the only one doing...)

The Leanan Sidhe of the Aos Si (people of the barrows) is a vampiric fae that is drawn specifically to poets, artists, and writers. Upside: she offers love, inspiration, and passion. Downside: her love frequently results in madness and premature death. Even those who survive to be discarded are never the same- they are drained, broken, and consumed by a hopeless longing for her touch. Moral of the story: sometimes creative people make truly terrible decisions in pursuit of inspiration. Try to avoid this one, at least.
