this is the first shitty change to make me ACTUALLY consider leaving the platform, impressive

we shouldn’t feel embarrassed for liking our favorite things. our favorite foods, books, movies, shows, hobbies, activities, games, clothes, etc. and we shouldn’t feel guilty for allowing ourselves to have time dedicated to those things either. life challenges us a number of times, and if these are the (harmless) little things that make life feel more bearable, then so be it. you deserve to do things for you. things that make you feel at peace and at home.

you know in Fullmetal Alchemist when Greed told his first and last lie to Ling to save his life and then when he said, “it’s more than enough. yup. I’m finally satisfied. I don’t want anything else. hah ha ha. see you around my friends of the soul,” and we were supposed to just not be emotionally damaged from that shit.

i think stating that Hohenheim abandoned his family is a gross over simplification of what really happened… and in my opinion, completely wrong (unless you purely look at it from Ed and Al's perspective prior to them figuring things out). i dont understand why a good amount of people dislike him, i am more so sad for him. he had such a traumatizing and rough life, until he finally met the love of his life and created a family with her. however, he still had responsibilities to attend to outside of that which clearly tormented him. he was never truly free until the very end. he did not leave his family out of selfishness, he left them out of pure selflessness. he left to do anything he could in order to prevent a future disaster. he scattered those souls. he fought so incredibly hard. but he always felt guilt. he always felt like a bad father and husband. he never felt like he deserved anything good. he was such a powerful alchemist but his sons were always his weakness. he would never hesitate to give his life for them. he was so proud of them. hearing Alex Armstrong speak so highly of them meant the world to him. the way he told Trisha at her grave about Ed finally referring to him as his father… he was happy. the way he told her that he actually wanted to live… HEARTBREAKING. i am so sad whenever i think about his life. he got the family he always wanted, but he almost wasn’t allowed to be selfish enough to take full advantage of it.
