It’s been ages since I cosplayed in general and since I last cosplayed Rey. I will always be proud of myself for having been able to create the staff thanks to @annastasiacosplay ‘s tutorial and tips (I changed some stuff around because I’m not as good as her when it comes to the different aspects of #cosplay including making props. Blood, sweat, and tears quite literally went into the staff as I accidentally stabbed myself while working on it... Loved the #jumpingpic w/ little #KyloRen from a cosplayers meetup photo shoot at Balboa Park. . . Next pic is by far the most popular cosplay photo I’ve ever posted on Tumblr. Years later, people are still finding it and liking it. This was the last picture I took the day before my birthday at Festival of Fools, and it wouldn’t have happened had I not asked a stranger for a favor to take my picture on my phone.... He ended up having a fancy schmancy camera and snapped this picture with his own camera and emailed it to me. #TBT to when @mrsablemonster_ came to #LosAngeles and we went on a #Bones locations drive all over town. If you’re a #Bonehead you know you have to take a #jumpingpic in front of what serves as the external view of the #Jeffersonian The Rose Garden is also where they filmed the deaf teen girl episode and where Booth and Brennan got married. I chose this pic today because it speaks volumes about how truly special hardcore fangirling can be. I’m blessed to have met several people through put mutual love of shows and characters who are now essentially part of my chosen family. This was only the second time we met (first time was when I flew to NY for Upfronts), but despite the distance & years since Bones ended, we are still close friends. We basically text everyday and confide in each other about the serious things in life. Another reason why I chose this photo is because I haven’t been doing a lot of jumping photos the past few years since I messed up my right hip at the RockNRoll Half Marathon. The jumping part is easy, it’s the landing I worry about, but hopefully being a few more pounds lighter helps lessen the impact. I am grateful for the people I have met through fandoms. Some people, including the ones we fangirl over, will never understand why we love them so much or geek out the way we do, but fellow hardcore fans not only relate, but also engage in the same behaviors. We understand each other, we relate to one another. We get it. I’ll always be balls to the walls go big or go home kind of #fangirl I feel like I shouldn’t have to apologize for being who I am, and the right people love and appreciate me for it.
