The words are breathed in a whisper against Elle's lips as Jun breaches her personal space, and Elle feels a shiver ripple up her spine when Jun's lips brush slightly harder against hers.

She followed Jun's request, her arms sliding around Jun's shoulders to pull her closer, lips parting in an attempt to gather more air into her lungs.

It isn't enough, and Elle has to break the kiss. She rests her forehead against Jun's as her chest heaves to replenish her air supply. 

Elle swallowed deeply, harshly before collecting herself and pulled her hands out of Jun's, her own heart breaking at the hurt on the Chinese assassin's face. She knew Jun would stay here if she had enough incentive, but she couldn't allow that to happen. Not with everything that had happened in her life.

"You should know I could never be in a relationship with another woman, least of all you; I have too much at stake here. You should get on the ship and return to China as there is nothing left for you here."

"Yes, I suppose I should. Farewell, Mentor." The tears were gone in a moment, a cold expression and blazing eyes replacing it and Jun turned away from her to board said ship, not looking back.
