Came home to a giant batch of zines from @custer-mp3 !!!! Have you checked out their distro? It’s fantastic, lots of original work (Julia Eff is a fucking great writer), and the zines they carry from other writers are all great. I’m never disappointed.
Some of these are for my niece, who turned 14 yesterday. She’s a pastel babybat and one of my favorite humans. She liked the zine I wrote, and now I’m going to introduce her to more and hope at some point she wants to make her own. 🤘 it’s hard sometimes to see her get older, and easy to miss the baby she was, but also so gratifying to see her evolve and become herself. Her drawing and writing and personality are all so interesting!

I finally got a copy of Julia Eff’s depression zine, you better watch where you spit, and it is so fucking stellar. I mean yeah, it’s depressing and dark, but the writing is fantastic as usual, and it’s got such energy. It definitely makes you wanna fight your own demons. Also, I can relate to a lot of it way too well. Get it here or here. (If you order it from Pioneers Press, you can also get a copy of Reckless Chants #23, which is my sad as fuck zine; the two pair really well together!)

WWMMD?
when I was in college, Marilyn Manson came out with mechanical animals and while I’d never been a big Manson fan before, I fucking LOVED that album. I went to see him (and hole!) that summer and was just totally a convert. It made my roommates crazy! I worked for a survey research company during that time, and had this lanyard for my work id that I got at hot topic that had the Manson lightening bolts and WWMMD? on it. I loved it so much because my coworkers thought it was disrespectful of the WWJD bracelets that were fucking ubiquitous around that time. I can’t help it, I am perpetually a smug teenager who wants to rile the adults up. Mechanical Animals was the only album I really loved, tho. Until!!! I picked up @skold ‘s zine The Hole Is Where The Heart Is from @crapandemic ‘s shop and now am having the same feeling about Eat Me, Drink Me. I’m not sure how I missed this album, but I am enjoying it a lot thanks to Marina and Julia!
