This is just a theory; do not take what I say as fact. (Unless I get proven right. Then that's awesome) As a forewarning, I do have dyslexia-- though I tried my best to prune and proof read this before posting! If there are any glaring grammar issues I missed, I apologize.

I do imagine he has some odd form of abandonment issues, just not as properly pronounced as one would expect. after all he’s gone and abandoned someone himself too, what gives him the right to feel the very same? but when you think about it, all his life all he really had was his sister— an absent near-non existing father, then a mother who was taken from him at a young age— and it’s less abandonment in the definitive sense and more. just really strange with attachment. He’s obsessive over the things he doesn’t have and even worse so with the things he does, because you Need to keep what you do manage.

If he loses what he has, it sends him into a sort of frenzy— Philippe’s the type of person who agonizes himself over that “what if’s” and the “what could I have done” … Obsessed with preventative measures. If something that lacked proper preventative prepare on happened— something entirely out of his control (which, often, things are out of his control)— then it’s this worse grief if I Should Have Done Something. I Should Have Been Enough.
