happy Pride Month from Masao & Subaru! 💕

this is Masao, an OC created by @lionaura and I back in 2011! this piece was heavily inspired by the anime Tsurune (2018), a KyoAni series that focuses on kyudo (Japanese archery). I was super excited to learn more about the martial art and apply it to one of my most beloved characters 🥰

[For people who don't know this isn't a standard transcription of TV show episodes but a chapter of my story I still recomend you to read it.]

Episode 1 Season 1

The Double Bat

It was the main gang in a crusty attic cleaning someone's junk. The place was a bit dark with light beams coming from the window. Everywhere was filled with boxes with old and forgotten stuff. Hédi was cleaning off the dust while the others were putting some boxes.

Hédi:Why do we have to clean someone else's trash? We could easily just go to the movies and have fun in this Saturday.

Jonathan:Because friends are always there for each other. Plus my friend wants to take a break for a few hours. We can go to the movies afterwards anyway so don't worry. I get your anger.

Hédi:Easy said to you. You don't really do anything besides this and that.

Shara:She is right. I don't want to think of what but you don't have much of a goal in life. You are free spirit and that's fine, too. Don't get me wrong. At least there will be some interesting things there hopefully, right?

Raine:This is a room like multiple lottery tickets. The chances of finding something of value is high but not guaranteed.

Hédi:I doubt it. *she said quietly*It cuts to a kid searching for something.

The kid:Ugh, why does life always have sucks sometimes. It's a really slow day, isn't it? Actually, why not chat with these smartasses upstairs? Maybe they have something interesting there like my old toys or something… Nah, I'm not that young… But I don't have much to do so that's worth a shot.

The kid went upstairs and to the attic.

Jonathan:Hey what is this?

Jonathon grabs a spiked bat from a crack in the wall. It was bi-coloured with one side teal the order golden. Its strange nature grabs the attention of the kid.

Jonathan:It looks like something a friend of mine would possess.

The kid gauze the bat in awe. Something about drawed his attention“I need to have it.” - said in head.

The kid: Oh, you guys found my childhood bat I got for Christmas. I totally thought it was gone forever!

He talked as he came closer.

The kid: Thank you for finding it. It hold senti-As he came to grab it. Shara grabbed it first.

Shara:Nuh-uh, I am not giving it to you. It looks like it is made of metal and it is obviously dangerous! Especially for you. However I can't lie. I feel a connection while I am holding it. Like a physical one. There is no way I can describe it but it feels… Nevermind.

Hédi: Also what is his name?

Jonathan:Nasser, the son of my friend. Hey, chum. Can you go down for us? ‘cause we are doing chores at the moment. Psst, Raine.

Jonathon tossed the bat to Raymond.

Jonathan *whispering* :Can you hide it for me so he won't find it, please? I don't want some random kid to beat us like we are an old building in a wrench site.

Raine:Got it.

Nasser got angry.

Nasser: I will be in my room.

Raymond decided to hide behind some boxes in the top fridge. Raymond checked his room just to be sure and found his hair picking behind the bed. So he moves on like it's nothing. But it wasn't his hair, just a toy supported by a pillow! Nasser saw him through the hole within the cracks of the table cloth. Nasser waited until the coast was cleared and grabbed the bat. Then he returned to his room.

Nasser:Yes,I got the bi colored mystical bat thing. Hmm… How does this work? Is it magnetic? Does it activate somehow when you swing it? He started to swing the bat. He hit a can to see what happened. Nothing. Then he closed his eyes to concentrate. He opened them and nothing.

Nasser and Nasser-clone:Guess it's just some dumb bat. He jerked when he saw a clone of him and the clone did the same.

Both Nassers:Aaaah!... Oooooh! That's how it works. And they said it was “dangerous”. I am way more responsible than giving credit for.

There was a clone of Nasser with a golden body and blue eyes.

Nasser 2:How does this thing truly work? Is it an illusion?

Nasser 2 touched Nasser 1.

Nasser 1: Definitely no. This is the real deal!

Nasser 2:The possibility could be endless!

Nasser 1:Let's have fun with it!

Nasser 2:Ditto!

Then he created more and more clones and did different activities with them. They made pyramids of each other, played video games together, recreated fight scenes from movies, got on the roof with the clones serving as the ladder,made a large straw with each clone serving as the support. After creating so many clones Nasser’s eyes begin to get heavy. He just stood not saying or doing anything. Almost about to fall asleep.

Nasser clone: Oh! I got an idea. Let's see how fast all of us could create a small house with the paint and cardboard from the garage. Nevermind that's lame.

Nasser:Cool, I guess. You record the process and I will see the process later.

Nasser clone: Why are you so tired? It's barely been an hour!

Nasser:I guess maybe it's the bat. With every clone I made I became real tired. Like my energy is being taken from my body.

Nasser clone 2: Ugh, what a bummer, man.

Nasser clone 3: Oh, I know let's play as Kingdom. Back in attic.

Jonathon:Ugh, how much did we do? It's getting annoying.

Hédi: More half way done. Also why are you mad? You did the least!

Jonathan:At least some like 19% or so.

Hédi:That's still low!

Shara looked out the window. There are multiple clones Nasser all talking to each other and pretending to be in some sort of kingdom with the original Nasser as king sitting on a sofa as a throne and two guard clones with makeshift armor.

Shara:Erm, guys, am I seeing things or are there multiple clones of Nasser?

Raine looked over.

Raine:Yeah, you're seeing things, did you take some edibles or something?

Raine had a little smile to Shara dismay. Jonathan and Shara look over to check.

Jonathan: Sweet Jesus! That lucky bastard discovered a cloning device. Wait… Raine, that's the bat I told you to hide.

Hédi:YOU DIDN'T HIDE THE BAT PROPERLY?!

Jonathan:Now, what are we going to do to stop him?

Hédi:Let me handle it.

Hédi opened the window and shouted:Hey, put the clones back and give me the bat! RIGHT! THIS! INSTANCE!

One of the clones whispered into Nasser's ear and he whispered back.

Nasser:Nuh-uh. This bat is the most interesting thing I ever had in a while. I am not giving it away without a challenge. Clones, line up and prepare. It's time for war!

Hédi gnarled.

Jonathan:You tried Hédi. Maybe you should have been less loud… But it is not your fault. The kid is just stubborn as all hell.

Hédi:Thank you, Jonathan but how are we going to defeat 40-50 or so clones of the same dipshit?

Mad Nasser clone:Yeah, you're not strong enough. You are beyond pathetic. We are the strongest motherfuckers ever!!!!!

The Mad Nasser clone unwillingly hits another clone really hard and disappears.

Mad Nasser clone:I think I went too far.

Nasser guard: Imprison him!

Jonathan: Oh, I got an idea!

It cuts to a scene of Jonathan using a car to run over the Nasser clones.

Shara: That's a little overkill; Don't you think? I don't think that would work.

It cut a scene of Jonathan running over the original Nasser and slamming into a tree.

Jonathan:Fare point.

Hédi:So what are we going to do?

Jonathan:Fight! —said with confidence.

Raine:Half of hundred children vs 4 adults. Sounds like a win.

Shara:I'm not on the same page. However I will try.

Jonathon:Let's do it.

The gang took utensils from the kitchen and geared up for the fight. The Nasser troops stood up and ready. The gang bust in screaming! Jonathan hit on the left. Raine jump kick on the right.

J:Finally some fun. Don't worry Nathan, I will finish it later.

Shara rushed straight to the main Nasser but was stopped by being dragged and piled up by the clone. Jonathan was getting out numbered. Hédi was still standing. She slammed the shovel like a game of whack-a-mole and came to help her.

H:Uncultured brats. You just can't take a no for an answer. If you want to defeat it you gotta try just a bit harder!

The other clones jump on her.

H:What are these kids made of?

In a moment of vulnerability she took a great beating by more and more. Which gives shara less to deal with.

S: Gotta get the bat! Quickly! - said in her head.

She dash with all of her remaining strengths. The guards were standing but she was ready.

S: Put yourself together. There are just some kids and nothing else.

As the guard came closer she throwed some dirt in their eye and dashed to the main one. However some Nasser’s troops stop Jonathan and Hédi and rush from the side of Shara. She was grabbed and was unable to move.

S:I should have thinked of something more clever. I should have, I should!

Everyone was pinned down, Shara, Hédi and Jonathan. However… Raine was still there in the back of him. He jumps in the shadow from the back of Nasser.

S:Hope plan B is better.

He quickly took the bat and returned all of the clones.

Raine:This is my fault for this and I am returning the favor. He created enough chaos for today.-said to himself

Nasser:Huh? What!

Nasser tried to grab it but he was tired and weak.

Nasser:I will get my revenge and you-

Nathan: What revenge? Everyone standing still in the dead silence. Beaten after what happened.

Hédi:Hmm, go figure.

Nathan: What happened with the attic?

Nasser:Oh! W-We are almost done. We just played some game… ‘cause we got tired.

Nathan:Oh, great! Hope you're done. You still have work to do.

Nasser:Man, my dad is a total watermelon. But I'm also one, too.

Jonathan:You don't say. Anyway! Are you going to help us with the attic?

Nasser:Nah, big bro. I will let my clones do it, I just need a full blood restore after a little mess I made. Also can you take the bat. To be honest, I feel I'm not ready for it…

Jonathon: Yet! You are not too responsible for its great power. You just need to grow up before using it regularly.

Hédi:Also did you get so attached to it? Isn't it because you are just bored?

Nasser:You adults don't know how horrible a long hiatus!

Hédi:Huh, go figure.

Jonathan:You had your fun, that's all that matters. Don't worry about it. I will give you back to you one day. Unless I lost it, got confiscated or it got broken into a million pieces. In which case I will give equally as cool item.

Nasser:I thought adults weren't such watermelons.

Nasser gives the bat to Jonathan.

Shara:What's a watermelon in this context?

Jonathan:It means something that is a joke and/or shouldn't be trusted.Shara: Oh, that makes sense.

Jonathan:Oh, Nasser, would you like to go to the movies after we are done?
