A Happy Child
How do you describe a happy child? As our mind conceives this question, we are quick to think that the happiness of a child revolves solely around earthly things. However, this world brims with happiness in various forms. Yet, the joys of a happy child may somehow differ from another child. These differences often result in a state of confusion. As you have come to notice, there are people who think happiness resides only in something they do. If you’re doing what they’re doing and you’re not happy, then they’ll think you’re doing it wrong. Hence, we grow up thinking that happiness is at the mercy of social constructs. Moreover, the illusions of an ideal happy child narrow the road to attaining genuine happiness. The Illusions of an Ideal Happy Child You are probably familiar of these sentences: If you want to be happy, you have to do this; The only key to happiness is money; Try harder to fit in with the cool kids; and, You can never feel truly happy without losing that trait of yours. Instead of feeling happy, a wave of confusion blows away all the chances of being happy. We feel ourselves drifting along with this wave, and we trim parts of us to fake happiness. Consequently, we end up convincing ourselves how happy we are, but deep down we know we are not. The illusions are never real. Yet, we continue buying the kind of happiness that is not for us. There is no such thing as an ideal happy child. It’s an illusion. If we barter genuine happiness with this socially constructed happiness, it would be a total waste of our lifetime. Happiness should never be at the mercy of social constructs. There are a lot of ways to be happy. Just because others definition of happiness differs from yours, it doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. Your happiness is something that only you can define. You have to remember, others’ opinion of what happiness is matters insignificantly. Your happiness doesn’t require any approval from others. Don’t fear the social constructs and experience your kind of joys in life, as long as it doesn’t hurt others that is. Read the full article
