nali and james: they would get theirs done together in february. they're probably the most responsible ones in the friend group, so they would get theirs done early.

topan (and hanako): would also get theirs done early. well, hanako has to travel a lot for work so they get them done whenever she comes back. so it might not literally be early, but it's spiritually early.

holly: she's getting hers done in early march. she wouldn't put it off too much, but also wouldn't get them done super early either.

summer and rayne (and nali): nali heard they haven't gotten them done yet and would make an appointment for them. she know these two would put them off till the last minute - rayne's a procrastinator and summer would keep forgetting until it's almost too late.

xavier: he planned on going with victor and iris. he told them to let him know when they have a free day so he can make an appointment, but as he kept asking and not getting a response, and the due date slowly got closer, he just said "screw it" and went by himself in late march/ early april.

~ nali and rayne were the og ocs for me. rayne was my first ever oc and nali was my first ever journal. these two are so different from each other but are incredibly close friends. ~ summer then came along and the three of them became really close too. maybe i just feel this way because i've had these three the longest, but to me, it feels like they're closer to each other than they are to the others. they also work as duos too: ~~ summer/nali is introvert x extrovert ~~ nali/rayne is nerd x jock ~~ rayne/summer is grumpy x sunshine ~ topan and hanako got together during the original run of the journalverse (high school). i like to think of them as still together and happily in love, but for whatever reason i hesitate to call them married, even if they are, functionally, married. ~ speaking of relationships, james and nali were originally set up to get together too, but i never formally got them together. so i guess they're in a situationship. dating but also not. schrodinger's relationship. idk. all i know is that they really like each other but they haven't asked each other out yet. ~ xavier and victor are besties. they were the first two male ocs that were around the same age (topan and james came first, but they were older) and had similar interests. i kinda wanna make them roommates, but i feel like that would be be too harsh towards victor. he already barely has a job, i don't want him to be living with someone too. ~ like i mentioned, xavier, victor, and iris are also a little friend group. they hang out at each other's places very often, and often appear on each other's social media. people love a lil friend group. (victor has social media, but he isn't internet famous the way iris and xavier are. he has a ton of followers by association anyways.) ~ rayne, topan and holly like to exercise together. ~ rayne, victor, and james are drinking buddies. they also have the highest alcohol tolerance lol ~ i like to think that the girls like to have semi regular sleepovers. all of them are just drinking wine, watching movies, catching up and falling asleep at one of their places. ~ the guys like to hang out too - maybe at a bar, or walking around at the beach. if they stay in then they drink and play video games. (victor and xavier are the best. topan isn't very good at them but he's learning.) ~ nali, james, hanako and summer are the most well read of the group. the other three function as summer's beta readers. ~ iris loves doing the others' makeup and dressing them up. she sometimes features the others on her youtube/tiktok channel (with consent of course). it's mostly summer, xavier, victor, and holly. ~ some of her viewers with kids ask how summer and iris know each other, and iris just says "we grew up together" and refuses to elaborate. ~ nali, hanako, and victor all watch anime, but their tastes are a little different. (nali loves romance [especially office romance], hanako likes fantasy and magical girl anime, and victor is your typical shounen fanboy.) they all love mha though lol

~ i feel like these guys are kinda divided into groups - ~~ nali, rayne, summer, james ~~ topan, hanako ~~ xavier, victor, iris ... so basically, their ages. (nali and co are my age [as is holly], topanako are older, and xavier and co are younger.) i want them to feel more like a big friend group rather than a bunch of cliques in the same universe. i did used to write stories about these guys, and i guess i could use them as a slight basis for them. but i do want to develop their relationships too. plus, i wanna see how i can incorporate holly in here too. (and also the new journal i started this year. but i have basically nothing for him, so i'm not gonna worry about it.)

something i was thinking about was how much of a backstory i was gonna give these guys. like, they just used to be human versions of my journals - nothing more than designs and maybe a personality. but then i started to make them interact with each other, and then gave them a place to live, and personal relationships and backstories. this is normal, but i guess i'm a little torn between making them actual ocs with backstories or having them just be as they are. i guess i could just give them the barbie treatment - have them be as they are but use the backstories when needed i guess.

i also know that i've used some of these guys (summer, victor, and xavier to an extent) for rem because i wasn't using them for anything at the time, and i was wondering of the rem version of these guy end up becoming the journalverse version of these guys. and after thinking about it, the answer is no. these are separete versions from separate universes.

i was also thinking that since these guys used to live together in a big house together, i was kind of thinking that maybe now they like in some sort of lil apartment building. that way everyone has their own space but they all still live "together." everyone has their own apartment, but topan and hanako live together. also, i like to think that victor, xavier, and iris all spend so much time at each other's houses that they might as well be roommates.

anyways, i've been doodling them and i will admit, it's been fun. i love the kids from rem, but it's been nice drawing adults for a change. it's been nice taking a break from that story, you know? i've even developed some stuff with clementine and winnie because of it, so yeah.
