“ --- Can you repeat the question?” He should have recognized right away that this would be a different arena than what he was used to. He did not give interviews to anybody; he was quick to learn that Lois Lane was not anybody. ( Tony nearly begged him not to speak with her, but it only nudged Steve to do the opposite. How could he not speak to the woman who had torn so easily through the image of Iron Man, of Tony Stark? ) Nonetheless, he was careful with his answers ----- the power of the star so often blazing on his chest was not lost on him ----- and leaned forward, waiting for her response. 

“ I’D RECOMMEND YELLING       ——-    very, very loudly.    ”    Perhaps not the most effective    (    or diplomatic    )    solution. But bullheadedness, at times, required a much more straightforward approach.

Kon squinted and crossed his arms, leaning back on his place on the sofa where he’d been so rudely interrupted on his bingewatch of the Magicians. “I feel like we’ve had this conversation before, but I’m gonna say it again. I am not a wordy person like you and Clark ok? You’re gonna have to slow down and not throw so many of them at me at once. I’m beyond lost.” And he was pretty sure it wasn’t just him. That ‘sentence’ made no sense.

Kaldur smiled with sympathetic fondness at Lois and readjusted his tie. He too hated this outfit. The suit was stiff and threatening to rip at every movement, the collar irritated his gills like nothing else, and he the shoes were well, shoes. Terrible. “As long as it gets us some face time with the witness, we will just have to tolerate it for a while.”

clinking glass and cacophony of laughter filter through the cracks in the floorboard;  perhaps it does pay well to run a police force in some major metropolitan area.  “  not snooping through his drawers was an explicit rule.  ”
