9. A note to be read only after my character is dead

Dear Jo,

I’m writing this letter and setting it out to send after a time delay. If you’re reading this now, it means I’m gone.Quite frankly, politics have never been my strong point. As a female alpha and one that can shape shift, it’s my job to make the big decisions and offer advice and guidance to the other packs. My decisions are final, unless they all revolt against me. And kill me. I’ve been vouching for Stiles for as long as I can, whatever little sanity he has left is enough for me. But they’ve wanted him dead for months now, and I can feel the storm coming. I won’t kill innocent people for trying to keep others safe, but I’ll never let them kill an innocent boy either. By the time you get this, Scott will probably be feeling as if something’s gone wrong. The only way I can guarantee his safety even after my death is to willingly give up my power as a leader to someone else. I’ll be standing my ground as a human, surrounded by a pack of hungry wolves.I know that I have no right to ask a favour of you, but please try to look out for my sister. Scott will take my place and Stiles will be safe, but she deserves to have a real big sister figure. One that doesn’t screw up as much as I have. I’m hoping that I’ll survive this and be able to cancel this letter before you get it, but just in case… Tell her I’m sorry. And tell her I love her. Goodbye,

            [ This was a question that Scott felt            he’d never be able to answer. And            how could he? He needed them both.            So how could he possibly only save            one of them? But choose he must.

            In one corner stood his best friend. It            felt as if they had known one another            their entire lives. They were partners            in crime; way before Scott was bitten,            way before anyone thought him more            than just some skinny kid with asthma            who was kidding himself by joining the            lacrosse team. And yet they were more            than that. They were brothers, bound            by something more than blood.

                                                                            In the other corner was his mom. The                                                                            one who had taken care of him by                                                                            herself. He had watched her all his life;                                                                            struggling to pay the bills, struggling to                                                                             live an actual  life with no worries,                                                                            struggling to provide for them while                                                                            still trying to give him the nurture and                                                                            love a young boy needed. For so long,                                                                            was all she had, and she all he had.

            They had both been there when he had            been nothing special. Not a werewolf,            not a True Alpha, just… Scott McCall. A            kid who loved to raise trouble with his            friend and adored his mother to pieces.            How could he possibly live without one            of them no longer part of his life, part of            the world? But if he had to choose, if            there was only one he could save,            unfortunately the answer had become            much too clear for him as time passed.

                                                                            He would pick his mother. She had to                                                                            put up with his trouble-making, had to                                                                            put up with people putting her down                                                                            for being a single parent even though                                                                            it wasn’t her fault that his dad left them.                                                                            And ,recently, she had to put up with                                                                            him being a werewolf, with the newest                                                                            ‘big bad’ trying to use her for leverage to                                                                            to get to him. She never wanted any of                                                                            this, and yet she had to get used to it.

            Scott loved Stiles. Of course he did.            But his mother…she was innocent.            She was forced into this life. And            though it pained him to say it, he had            to choose her over him. After all the            three of them had been through, he            hoped that this would not be what it            all led to. Him choosing between them,            having to hurt Stiles in such a way. He            would make sure that something like            this never, ever happened. Because            he was not willing to lose more of his            pack members. ]

Opinion On:

Character in General: Well I can’t really comment on exactly how she’s played, but I do adore Jo. I know that you and I share similar thoughts towards Mary Sue’s, and that’s the reason I’m so reluctant to follow any OC’s. But Jo is fantastic, a big ball of angst and depth and so much potential. I would wish she was canon if Davis actually treated any of his awesome females well. But I think she’s safest in the indie community, and I love her to pieces. 

The Mun: Looking back to when I first joined Tumblr and knowing what I know now, I can’t believe I was so intimidated by you! You were so well known in the RPC community, and every time I followed you I felt like I would just embarrass myself. But you’re so down to earth and kind and friendly and generous and loving and ugh. There should be more people around as considerate and amazing as you are.
