#josh gate's

have you ever wondert what it would feel like to be part of a secret organization, well let me tell you, it's tiring. You always have to be carefull who you are talking to, you have to be carefull so nobody finds out your secret and lately we also have to be carefull because of those stupid acheologist.

A quick information:

1: That is actually my first oneshot since a long time. so pleas dont jurge me :)

2: English is not my first language, pleas ecuse me if i make some mistakes.

Y/N Pov:

Well thats bad. That was my first thought when i got a call of my boss. He is basicly the chef of the secret sosiety of the ninjas. And according to him, the old man who found one of our abandoned underground temples spilled our secret from his deathbed. Now, of course, some archaeologists want to find out whether he was telling the truth, find the cave he described and examine the temple inside. One of these archaeologists is Josh Gates, he searches the world for myths and legends. And as secret as we ninjas are, there are some legends that we couldn't prevent from being told. So it's no wonder this proximity made it onto his radar. According to our information, he plans to put together a team with which he would then like to go into the jungle of Ecator and find the temple in question.

My boss now demands that I (since I'm one of the best trained members) infiltrate Josh Gate's team and, if they find the cave, stop them from finding the temple. After all, this would reveal many of our secrets. I'm surprised why we haven't destroyed it long ago when we know that someone found it. In any case, I'm sitting here in my modest two-room apartment and writing an application to accompany Josh as a team member and hopefully keep our secret.

Time skip: The team is meeting in the Jungel of Ecator

What can I say. It could be that I lied a little bit in my application. But I'm here and that was the goal. When I look around I realize that I am the youngest in the group. and that raises two questions for me Firstly, why was I sent by ninjas and not someone who would have been more suitable for the group. After all, everyone here is between 40 and 50. At the tender age of 25, I'm almost still a baby. and secondly, why was I promised this position, what do these archaeologists hope for from such a young person. Doesn't matter. back to the point.

We were told that we would meet at a boat dock and from there take a boat down the river. At a small bay they would let us out, we would load everything onto mules and wait for the rest of the group. So actually only on our group leader. Josh Gates and someone else whose name I don't know yet. In any case, we're actually already there, but we're just waiting for the two of them. Suddenly I feel my communicator vibrate, it connects me to the headquater so that they can give me direct commands.

I distance myself a little from the group to read the message. Flirt with Gates. Be playful. He has to trust you. Really now, how is this supposed to help me? Just as I'm about to answer I see that the group is now complete so I rush back. I join the group just in time so as not to attract attention and at exactly that moment Gates begins to instruct the team. "Hi guys. You all already know me so i will just introduce the person next to me. Thats Tim Halland he will take us to our cave, he is a relative of the deceased explorer who found it and would like to see for himself whether his relative was right. Tim, please briefly explain our path to us." "Okay guys, we're going to hike through the jungle today and tomorrow and set up camp during the night. When we climb the mountain you definitely have to be careful, because even though it's been a dry summer here and it hasn't rained in the last few days, we have to expect pretty muddy paths.When we reach the cave we will lower ourselves into it and then try to find the way to this mysterious temple." "You heard it gys, make sure you don't hurt yourself and don't move away from the group. Lets go"

Well, that's going to be great. Do you hear my sarcasm? The group starts moving slowly and I fall in line somewhere in between. I don't want to attract negative attention straight away, so I'll stay away from Gates for a while. There's a man walking next to me, I have to be honest, I think he's around 40, but he could also be a little younger. "Hey my name is Benjamin." "Hey my name is y/n. Don't take it personally but Benjamin is a pretty long name, can I just call you Ben?" "Yes, of course." He looks at me laughing and we talk for a while. Oh, who am I kidding? We talked until it got dark and we had to concentrate too much on the route. Well at least he did, I walked rather lightly along the muddy path. However, I noticed that Gates also seems to have some problems with the mud, so I fall back to be near him. and it was good. As soon as I'm near him he slips and hits his butt. "Uh, that looked painful. Are you okay, Mr. Gates?" I ask innocently. "Yes, everything is fine, by the way, call me josh." "Okay Josh, here I'll help you up." I give him my hand and pull him up. "You are y/n l/n right?" "Call me n/n. Sooo. A tempel of the ninjas hu." "Yeah, isn't that exiting." "Do you know much abaut them?" "Oh just what everybody known or assumes. Thy are a secret sosiety,they help pore people, the had there parts in some historical wars and some even asume they have supernatural powers." "What kind of powers. Elemntal bending. If we find this tempel, there have to be some clues if all of this is right or not. That would change the history." I know thats what i'm trying to stop. "Wow you know so much" I really try to sweet talk him and it looks like it woud work. He looks at me and smiles charming. "You think so?" "Yeah sure, i do not know many peopel who know so much. And i asume that is not the only toppic you are a specialist in." God i could puke. He looked quite proud and flatterd. We keept talking for a wile. In the distance i could see the others, thy are starting to set up camp. Okay, enough chitty chat chat. Time to be bold. "Soo you really like your hat?" "Yeah why?" I didn't answer him, just stood on my toes and grabt the hat. As soon as i got it, i started running to the others. "Hey, give that back" Josh screamd after me. I turned around and smiled at him. "Come and get it." And i was gone.

Josh Gate's Pov:

She is quite cute. I followed n/n to the camp and tried finding her. I have to admit i'm probably smiling like an love sick idiot. But who could blame me. She is really gorgeous and has a quite nice personallity. And she is fascinatet by my adventures plus she was definetly flirting with me. That kind of gives me an ego bost. "Josh, come here." Tim Halland called me. I looked back where I last saw n/n and then turned to Tim. "Yes?" "We already set up your tent. It is there. I just wanted to tell you that we should make it to the cave quite early tomorrow. So we can definetly start to investigatethe cave." "Thats really great. See ya tomorrow." I looked around a last time to see if y/n was still around but she must have alredy laid down for the night. So did go to tent and laid down. Fun fact i was dreaming of my sweet girl.

Y/n Pov:

I did wake up ratter early so i could finaly text the headquarter back. Why? That should be enough. I startet taking down my tent, and backing my bagback with my things. Josh's hat did find his way on my head. There it shoud be save. As i was lokking around i saw Ben, and oh boy was i interesstet in him. He had a cup of coffee in his hand. Where did he get that! "Ben! Good Morning." "Godd Morning y/n" "Say, where did you get that." I was looking longingly at his coffee cup. He also looked down and smiled. "Oh that, another member gave it to me. You wanna have it? I don't really like coffee." "Oh you are a savour." As I was standing there, happily sipping my coffee i saw Josh coming my way. "I was hoping i could trade my hat for a coffee." "Oh You must come up with something better. Ben alredy gave me one." "Ben?" "Benjamin." "Oh" He kind of looked disapointet but also a little jealous. So my plan is working. "So, is there any way to get hat back?" "I don't know." I smiled sweetly at him. "What do you want?" "Something spezial" i winked at him and just left him there. After i brought my cup back to the mule i took my stuff and followed the others. I realiced that Josh was trying to come to me, so i decidet to play with him. I speeded up a little bit and slowed down againg when i was next to Ben. Josh was obviosly jealous of him and me. And when i took a look back, that was confirmed. Gates did look quite angry and jealous.

Josh Gate's Pov:

Why is she with him and not with me? What dose he have i do not have? I am obviosly more interesting. And she must defenetly like me, she wears my hat, my favourite one. It really looks good on her. I must find a way to seperate this two...

Time Skip to the Cave

Y/N Pov:

No no no no no no. They did finde the right cave. That means i have to make shure thy don't find the tempel. "Guys. We are here. We are going to let everybody down, one by one. The we will stard to explore the cave" I heard Tim Halland call. So put on my climping gear even though as a ninja i had other ways to get down there. But i coudn't usee theme, they would reveal me. Suddenly Josh was in front of me. He kneeld down and startet cheking my gear. I totaly turend red. When he stood up he took his hat from my head and laid it on a rock. Then he took a helmet and put it on my head. When he was finished he looked me in the eyes and smiled. "Come" he laid his hand on my lower back just above my ass. Okay. What's going on. "I'll go first. then they will lower you, don't be scared i'll wait for you down there" he smiled at me and linked himself in. Okaaay? Thats weird. I hope the headquater knows what it is doing. Soon I also was lowerd down in to the cave. It looked still the same as the last time i was here. That was five years ago when i visited the tempel with some ninja students. We do try to teach them our past, so that they understand some of our decisions we have to make every day.

When i was at bottom of the cave Josh linked me out and gave the others a signal. Then he put his arm around my waist and pulled me away a little. "Isn't it wonderful? It's so impressive." I just smiled at him. Okay I needed his attention but he is acting weard. I pulled away from him and startet helping the others. "Okay guys. Lets move." Tim Halland shouted. Mabey i should change my plan. I should try to manipulate him, he obviously leads the goup down here so he must know something. I walk a little faster so i could catch up with him. "Mr Halland" "Ah y/n. Pleas call me Tim. Mr Halland makes me feel so old." "Tim, how do you know where we should go?" "You see y/n. My old man was the person who found the cave and the tempel. He told me he left some waypoints on the way. There do you see the mark?" I'm deffenetly sure i lost all of my colour in my face. How am I supposed to mislead them now? There was a mark on the ground, it looked like it was engraved in the ground. It was an big X and at one end was a arrow. "Oh. And do you know how long we will be down there?" "Four Nights. Don't worry, we will not get cave illnes. Our medic has some medicin that can prefent that." I hummend so that he would know i understood him, and startet panicing. There is no way i can mislead them, i have to find the oportunity to contact the headquater. They must destroy the tempel befor we get to it. I let myself fall back again and startet walking in the middle of the group. Benjamin was suddenly next to me. "y/n. you do not look so great. Are you feeling okay?" "What? Oh... Ähm, i gues i am just a little nervous and excited." "If you say so. But say something if you are not feeling well oaky." I nodded and walked next to him, he seemed really worried, so I wanted to show him that I was really okay

Josh Gates Pov:

What are you doing y/n. First you ignore me. Then you dont talk to me, but you are talking to Tim and Benjamin. I dont care much abaut Tim, but i have to find a way to separate you from Benjamin. I walked up to the and took y/n hand. "Benjamin. They need your help at the back." "okay. Y/n you heard me, call me if you feel strange." Then he left. "What did he mean?"I asked my sweet girl. "Nothing." She wanted to wiggel her hand out of mine, probably to join that idiot again, but i just tightend my grip. Her hand is so soft. We walked in silence. Y/n looked araound nervously as if she was trying to find something. What are you hiding from me sweety.

Y/n Pov:

timeskip to the first camp in the cave.

Finaly i am alone. When we did stop to rest i quickly builded my tent up and said i would go to sleep. When i graped my communicator i realiced the headquater didn't respont to my last queston and they don't need to. Ialreaady know why the wanted me to flirt with Gates. He obviously has a thing for younger women. I shook my head and focused back on what was important. Need permission to destroy the temple. Can't mislead the group. I put my communicator away, they would probably need some time to discuss this. So I can also use the time and go to sleep. I have a bad feeling that tomorrow will be very tiring.

The first thing i was doing when i woke up, was looking on the communicator. There was a message. Permission granted. Separate yourself from the group and destroy all evidence of us. As much as i was relieved i also was a little sad. I mean it is a peatiful building and it is part of our culture. I Left my tent and realized some of the others where already awake. Thats bad. I could see Josh in the distance and ducked down, hoping he would not see me. I took the helmet of of my head at startet heading in the right direction. As soon as i would be out of sight i would start running. I know the way quite good, and the more time i have the better. Even tough i was quite slow right know because of my ducked posision, i did come quite far already. So I stood up. "Y/N! where are you" I heard Geats scream. Okay. Fuck it. Now i have to be faster. I startet running. Just as i was reaching the next tunnel i heard him scream again. "Y/N! Come back. Its to dagerous. Stop. Y/N!" But i was already gone. Here comes the tricky part. It's a tunnel system, you have to take the right turne or you will end up at a dead end. Left Right Right Left Left. That old man really did mark every turn, and so long, he got everything right. And then I was there. The secret entrance. It is a flooded tunnel, so you have to dive. Great. Could dark whater, i love it. Pure sarcasmus.

I waded into the tunnel and when I couldn't stand anymore i decided to swim. And there is the end. I took a deep breath and dived. Do you know how easy it is to lose orientation in dark water? No? Let me tell you, I know the route really well and yet I hit my head three times. When I finally got to the other end I breathed a sigh of relief. To be honest, you might only dive for a few seconds. But that's still enough to make you lose your bearings. In any case, I got out of the water and looked up. With my flashlight I only illuminated a small part of the large cave in front of me. Every time I see this gigantic temple it takes my breath away. I would really like to know how the previous ninjas built this building, and now I should just bring it down. I slowly walked towards the stairs. They would lead down to a path that then continued to the temple. Around the third step you could hear something gurgling. It was the natural oil spring that we used as a light source. I pushed a small stone wedge into the groove that only reached halfway and made a quick hand movement. Suddenly my hand was on fire. Well Gate's You where right, some of us can bend the element. Before you ask, no i could not just make the cave collaps. First that would be to dangerous, and second, im not that stong in bending the earth. However. I did shoot a fire ball at the oil and it startet burning. I followed it with my gaze and marveled at how everything suddenly lit up. It's always wonderfully beautiful.

Josh Gates Pov:

I saw Y/N running away from the group and shouted after her, but she did not stop. "Fuck" I screamed. Suddenly Tim was next to me "Damn I knew it, she's one of them. She'll try to destroy the temple." My little one, one of them? Oh y/n just wait and see when I get my hands on you. Cute, beautiful, intelligent and a ninja. what more could you want? "Let's go guys, we have to go immediately." I shouted and started running, the others where following me. Luckily the old man left some signposts behind. This makes the tracking much easier now. When we suddenly found ourselves standing in front of a flooded tunnel, I rolled my eyes. Really now. We have to dive? So we waded in and dove. When we got to the other side we saw a wonderful sight. There he stood. The Temple of the Ninjas. It was lit by fire and almost glowed with beauty."Look at this." I said, completely amazed. We all stared and were amazed. "There! There's y/n" Benjamin said. and he was right, she ran towards the temple. you could tell what she was up to. "Y/n. Stop. Stay put." but she didn't listen to me, so I ran. "Look around here, I'll stop her" I called to Tim and followed y/n into the temple. I saw her about to activate an ancient device that would destroy the temple, so I acted quickly. I practically threw myself against her and knocked her to the ground. She tried to defend herself but I had the upper hand, after all I'm a bit heavier.

Y/N Pov:

Just when i was about the start the proces to destroy the tempel i suddenly was pushed too the floor. I really tried to push the person down of me but coudn't do it. The person grapped my hands, put them above my head and puched down. It was quite painful. "Stop squirming, baby." I widend my eyes. Josh? Why is he calling me baby?! I looked in his eyes and panicked, if i can't get out of this i faild this mission. I faild all of the others. I stilled my movements and looked him in the eyes. They where dark, and there was something that could be discribed as lust. "You are a ninja.." that wasn't a question, more a statement. "Josh, please." "You wanted to destroy this beutiful place and then what. Run away from me" okay now he looks angry. "Please. The Ninjas have to stay secret. And i have duties there. of course i would return to them" "Oh you must know so manny secrets, so many secret places" he trailed of. "Josh. Please let me go." Belive me, if looks could kill, i would be dead right now. "No." he almost growled that. "You know. i wantet do court you the normal way, but i don't think this will work. So ill just keep you." What... He took his scarve of and bound my hands togheter with it. "You are going to stay with me. If you like it or not." He said, before he puched me at the wall and startet kissing me. It wasn't lovley, he kissed hungry. "You are mine now" he said wile he was puching some of my hair back behind by ear.

And you wanna know the woresd part, i belive him. He will probably never leave me again. And the Ninjas will not help me, because i faild to complete the mission

So guys. Thats my first oneshot since a long wile. I am sorry that it turend out rather long and isn't as dark as some might has wanted it. Pleas remember that this is pure fantasie. Josh Gate's is not really like that (at least not akording to his show) and i do not wish to harm his reputashion. Fans of the show probably realized what episode i took for inspiration, and i have to say its one of my fafourites.
