With the end of a decade brings change and my life is no exception
After 7 years at Jorte I've decided to step down at the end of February. When I first joined Jorte in 2013 I was one of the first employees to start in the Tokyo office for the company. The company was very much in startup mode and had just pivoted to focus on Jorte Calendar, the mission was to expand Jorte to new markets and establish new business models for Jorte Calendar which today has millions of users globally on Android and iOS.
During my time I had the opportunity to recruit previous colleagues and friends to build and manage a team working on international markets. Together we helped establish multiple business models for Jorte including advertising, Premium subscriptions, and licensing partnerships. Jorte is now at a stage where running these well established business models take up most of the day-to-day work. As such I've decided it is time for a change, to step down and give my colleagues the reins to run these businesses.
Jorte has become the longest company I've worked for in my career at 7 years, and the time went by fast! Which goes to show having a chance to work on many different areas and learning a lot along the way sure makes the time fly by! I'm confident that the Jorte team will be able to execute with continued success and I plan to continue to be an avid Jorte Calendar user & Jorte Premium subscriber.
As for what I'll be working on next, I'll leave that for a separate post in the future.
