These articles will approach modern bass innovators and examine a solid basic bass technique that they utilise in a musical setting. The aim will be for you guys to learn the technique (or add some insight and improvement to your own) and then improvise and adapt it to suit your musical ideas. These will be grounded within a song structure which, all though not a transcription, can and should be jammed with the original. The main aim is to get you familiar with the technique, its use and its principal melodic and rhythmic ideas to be able to play along with the record so that as you stand on the shoulders of giants to beg, borrow and steal ideas you understand the concepts.
Be Warned: These are not going to be beginners lessons, you will need some technique, theory and fret board knowledge. The learning here will be gained through hard work; the concepts will be in the music, you will have to find them yourself.
