They opened their eyes, wondering in the silence of the cave, tucked under the furs they had gathered. Darkness surrounded them, yet it all seemed so clear now.
They were bound, her joys becoming his, and his pains hers.
“Do you think anyone else ever experienced that?” She said out loud. “It all seems so strange, so new…”
“And home.”
She raised her head towards him, a light in her eyes.
“Home, indeed,” She took pleasure in saying the word. “Blood of my blood.”
His lips widened in a smile as the back of his hand caressed her cheek. She closed her eyes, content.
“I am yours and you are mine.”
She smiled too, a giddy feeling building in her stomach. “We took it quite literally, it seems.”
“We never did things half way, did we?”
She giggled and his grin widened as he raised lightly to tickle her. Her mouth opened in laughter. He took advantage of it, his tongue grazing her upper lip before joining hers.
“Was that your way of trapping me into such a ritual, Jon Snow?” She teased. “Me, poor young girl ignorant of the traditions of this country?”
He laughed. “From my understanding, you knew the words quite perfectly, for someone who proclaims to be ignorant of it. If there’s someone trapped, it’s me, my lovely and greedy dragon.”
