Chase found it strange how his internet connection speed grew drastically slow recently. The only uses for his Wi-Fi were his laptop as well as his boyfriend, Sehunās. It became so bad to the point where Sehun constantly complained about how the lag kept making him lose his games and of course, being the meticulous boyfriend he was, he couldnāt just sit back and watch. He knew how much those games meant to him.
It was convenient to have a computer hacker as a best friend; because the next day, Chanyeol was at his house, downloading some sort of program onto his laptop to scan for IP addresses that were using his Wi-Fi. āReally now? You named your Wi-Fi āWi believe I can Fiā?ā, his best friend turned back to throw him a look before returning his attention to the screen. āWhat? Itās funny,ā Chase retorted as he masked a snicker behind his fist.
It took hours of waiting, ātracking packetsā (and a whole ton of computer lingo he didnāt quite understand) for Chanyeol to inform Chase of his neighbor using his Wi-Fi to downloadĀ those kind of movies,Ā and Chase almost let out a disbelieving scoff at that. This never happened before⦠Until that pair of twins moved in next doorā
Twins.Ā He only let himself ponder briefly over what those two could be doing with what they downloaded but he was quick to put those thoughts away. It didnāt help that they both looked like his boyfriend, and just for a fleeting moment, he contemplated sharing the dirty pictures he took with Sehun to them when Chanyeol told him that they could have access to some shared folders on the system but decided against it.
Chase was much better than that.
Creating a new shared network folder, he downloaded over fifty pictures and videos cute baby animals into it, and named the folder āTo cleanse your soulā.
There were always pros and cons of living with a roommate, no matter ho you looked at it. Even if said roommate was someone you've grown up with for years and they know you like the back of their hand, it was never a good thing on most days. Common interests and similarities were shared between him and his brother that had Shixun finding ways to get around the shared bandwidth between them that constantly made his leisurely web browsing much slower than he'd liked it to be. Lazy Sundays like this were what his brother liked to call 'gaming' days where he spent hours upon hours trying to improve his skills, whereas Shixun just wanted to defy the hallowed day of worship and do something more..lax with his free time.
Thankful for the lack of security in one of the closer signals, he wasted no time in leeching off of his neighbor's signal whenever his brother was hogging all the bandwidth for himself, leaving Shixun at the reclining end of the signal. Albeit this new route wasn't any better considering whoever had the router was considerably far from him, but it was enough to steal just the right amount of signal to stream a few videos to satiate his desires.
As he logged on for his weekly session, he noticed something new on his desktop that he sure wasn't there the day before. This was odd because his brother didn't know the password to his laptop and if his brother didn't know, no one else knew. Giving out personal information like this wasn't something he did often--if ever, but his curiosity led him to hovering his mouse over the name of it, wondering what was inside that could 'cleanse his soul'. The only reasonable explanation was this was something that the guy whose net he was leeching off of created, something for him to see and it made him smirk a bit. So he wasn't as sneaky as he thought after all.
The contents didn't do much other than make him smile in amusement, deciding he could play along if it meant keeping the signal open long enough for him to use a while longer.Opening up a word document, he began to type in a message to leave in the folder, hoping that it would be seen.
'That was cute. Literally. But I'm afraid it did absolutely nothing in terms of giving me any pleasure so I hope you don't mind if I fill this folder with some of my interests instead. Sound like a good idea?'
