Jonathan Gooch
M & L: Concerning living and furnishing - what is of particular importance for you? Where do you buy your furniture and decoration?
J. G.: Space and design and feel are important. How something is made is big for me. I love great design. Simplicity and functionality in a design. Open space is awesome. Not too much clutter. In terms of living, light is also really crucial. A room with natural light is for me, unbeatable!
M & L: What does “home” mean for you? Where do you get this “being at home-feeling” the most?
J. G.: Home for me is definitely a place where my “stuff” is. Having moved alot in my life (all around South Africa and back ‘n’ forth to the UK), I don’t necessarily have a loyalty to any particualr country, although London is amazing and we have no intention of leaving. Thus it’s now great to be able to accumulate more things to make this our permanent home. For me being home is being surrounded by the stuff that I like and admire for various reasons, be that great design or a certain feeling something can evoke. You know what I mean? Being away from family is tough, so friends are also an important part of creating a “home feeling”. The greatest thing however is being married to my best friend! So basically home could be and would be where Sam is! The stuff we surround ourselves with is just temporary anyway, but don’t get me wrong, I do love having nice things around me in my home.
M & L: Is there any self-made-stuff in your flat? If yes, how did you make it?
J. G.: Yeah there are a few bits of self made stuff. Sam also loves making and customizing things. So as I said earlier, even if it’s a bought piece of Ikea furniture, we customize it to make it our own. We have a coffee table, a desk, a chest of drawers and a few tables that we’ve done.
M & L: Do you own a piece of furniture which you would never sell? If yes, which one and why?
J. G.: Um, not sure. Haha. Really love my desk, the design is cool. But I guess it’s all material anyway, no point in getting too attached. Haha. I don’t think I’ve found that one piece that is just too awesome to ever part with yet.
M & L: Can you describe your style with three words?
J. G.: Simple. Functional. Odd.
M & L: Which status does photography have in your live? Would you describe it as hobby, profession, vocation? When did you get your first camera? Was it a present or did you buy it yourself?
J. G.: Photography is my profession. I only got a camera pretty late (mid 20’s) was always interested in it and was pretty obsessed with images and design, but never really thought of doing it myself. Then one day someone said I’d make a great photographer, and the 'lights went on’ in my head! I finally knew what I had to do in life! So I left my job in insurance and bought a camera and started assisting professionally. I’m now transitioning from assisting to being completely on my own. It’s such a privilege to be able to follow my dream and live my passion.

News: Feed Me's Future Plans
Jonathan Gooch, a.k.a. Feed Me, has made a spur in the last month. He took time to tell the world that he was not feeling the art of dj-ing like he used to. Thus, he felt that he was going to put more time and effort into other projects. When the world heard this, they thought "oh no, I've missed my chance to see Feed Me live...with teeth :C".
Some time passed until Feed Me took to the interwebz once again. This time he cleared up all the hullabaloo behind his sudden decision to leave the live acts for a moment. According to him, he wants to focus on his album (or two), his new label he wants to launch, and his short movie starring himself and a robotic version of himself as the little green gremlin we've come to love. After that, he might return with a live set as early as the first half of 2014.
You can read what he had to say about it on his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/youfeedme?fref=ts
Stay tuned.
