Well I can imagine that Johnny and Mario are fighting by each other’s side and ends up fusing in a desperate moment. And thus they become Captain Sealegs.

Not me, drawing underappreciated ships I don't think people think about enough.
Why Mario and Johnny? A kind, helpful plumber grants this man's wish by giving him the fight of his life and Johnny gives this man his loyalty. In post game Johnny states he feels like he's had the joy sucked out of him since their fight. Johnny dueling Mario gives him spark and passion and he's truly honored to fight him in a rematch. Mario lights a fire inside of him, a blue fire, the hottest kind. There's so much context and subtext that I feel people miss out on with these two that's surprisingly deep for the small amount of time they have together and I feel it gets overshadowed by the main cast because screen time isn't too kind to dear old Johnny. I've been really thinking about it lately and wanted to make some art on a ship I love. Let Mario have a a weird shark man boyfriend. As much as I ship them, it's criminal that I don't draw them more. I need to start doing that tbh.

Jonario is back
Its been awhile since the self proclaimed Jonario trash lad actually posted Jonario:

I am finally doing something I've been forgetting to do for awhile, which is to make Jonario fankids.
So here is Oliviero and Perla
I don't have much info on them, partly because they are both five and also because they're don't have fully developed 'lore' yet so all I have is some small facts or ideas. I will say, Oliviero is older then Perla and their skin (rather scale) colours were taken from the blue of Johnny's skin and the red of his cape which I use as a secondary colour in my design of him without the shark skin. I thought it would be fun if their eyes were like Johnny but kinda reversed, and more rounded like Marios
I did struggle with the colours but I am overall happy with the designs. Maybe I'll make designs of them when they're older eventually but until them they just have designs as little ones.
